Hi guys, I'm living in Australia, currently have my original 2003 XB9s, Race ECM, Jardine RT1, K&N etc etc... Looking at buying a XB12s 2009 model. Have been looking at the performance upgrade available for this model.. The ECM for this bike, I have heard there are no Race ECM's available, ?? is this true. I'm looking at getting the D&D Exhaust, K&N filter, but... if you add these will it not lean out the fuel mapping, if there a exhaust valve ?? The older model by adding the Race ECM it eliminated the need to alter much else... If I'm not going to get much more HP from this is it really worth getting the XB12s. How good is the XB12s 2009... Would appreciate any advise or comments... Cheers guys... |

Yes and no, you need a race license to purchase it, at least in the states.

It will lean it out.

The race ECM was designed for use with the race pipe, so thats its best setup, but it was also a decent match for many aftermarket pipes too.

You will gain a few HP, mostly depending on your pipe. These bikes are pretty much wrung out from the factory, not much you can do to them without spending tons of cash.

Fantastic. Only thing better is a 2010 |

Thanks.. I've read that the bike's delivered to australia are same as the European Specs, less performance to meet the EPA/climate smart guidelines. Have been quoted (ride away $$) 2009 XB12Ss = under $10k AUS 2010 XB12Ss = under $12k AUS As I'm still on my 03 XB9s, I always wanted a XB12s, it's the time to buy before they are all gone forever... |

Yea you will gain quite a bit with a different pipe and a retune! The Euro models are down 10hp if I recall right. The 2009/2010 SS is a totally different monster than your 03 S, with next to no parts being shared between them. The motor and suspension are different, you will love it |
