Nope - funny you should mention that - because a lot of the old time Blastards actually know this - I live in the Inner sunset area of San Francisco California - Besides leaving for work at 5am (dark), going home in fog (almost dark) - you couldn't find a more overcast,foggy, cloudy area to live in in the US(also cold - Mark Twain quote: The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. - lol),so most of my rides start in the dark or overcast/foggy weather - so besides the fact that the bike looks like something Darth would ride;0)) Even before that - I've been Blasting on the Dark side! Oh - I wouldn't rule that out;0) - Also have been a big fan of Dark Shadows - the only thing they let us watch in the Marine military school (so I was a bad boy;0)) - (St. Cathrine's in Anehiem - closed down for being too rough - yea sure;0)) - when I was a kid - probably why I prefer black - lol - and my skin is probably close to the palor of a vampire being half Irish (other half Mescalero Apache;0)) - heck - Blake may be right again on all acounts - don't ya just hate that! - lol - Got Thump?! Blasting on the dark side is seeing the sun start to rise on that twisty section of road on the way to work and opening the throttle in answer to the tightening curves, cracking the throttle open in the underpass setting off car alarms at the dealership at 5:30 am, having one of the loudest non-cruisers in a croud of over 600 bikes and the quiet tear of pride that brings, cruising the wine country in the twilight hours, startling awake the homeless guy on the bus bench - hear him mutter,".. fu***n Harley!?"and then stare at your bike in disbelief;0) - yupers - Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ | ||

Blasting on the Dark side is getting pulled over for passing within 50 ft of an intersection and loudness of exhaust by a motorcycle officer and only getting cited twice for loudness because while the officer was writing he was also pacing around the bike and muttering and shaking his head, cutting to the inside of a Ducati on the last curve at the top of Market and being told '...nice sounding bike! What is it?..'reply - '..a Blast!' and the look of shock as he realizes, looping Golden Gate Park at 6am - alone in the fog and greenry enjoying the 'mistical'(spelled right - lol) scenery. I wonder how many others have been Blasting on the Dark side and not even known it? Got Thump? Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ | ||

Blasting on the Dark side is laughing in maniacal glee in the pouring rain as you ride home because that part you just picked up means that the fun is just beginning, picking your freshly rebuilt bike up and riding the heck out of it in the rain covering her and yourself in mud with a big white smile showing, Beating the heck out of a hot Mustang to the next light just because you can;0)Got Thump?! Blasting on the Dark side is pulling up to a sweet looking little sportster and smiling with a thumbs up because my bikes louder;0) and then dusting it thru the next 5 lights to the dealership and laughing about it over coffee with the guy while checking out bikes, splitting lanes at over 50 mph and smiling (its legal here;0)) - traffic jams are for cages, revving the shit out of your bike as you pass the local old folks home because some old Hawiian guy asked you to and seeing him wave in return (set off some car alarms also;0)), volunteering to do a mail run for a friend and using a mail box in San Jose - over 60 mi. away;0), taking under a half hour to get to work and over an hour to get home;0), riding and going nowhere - just enjoying the day and whats around the bend. Yuppers - I'll bet theres a lot of folk Blasting on the Dark side and not even knowing it! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ | ||

When buying parts and refering to them to the missus - use words like on sale, moving sale, a little side deal, going out of business, half off - exagerate the savings! and emphasize their need in making life better for you and the bike and the added value the part gives the bike, & try never to mention a specific price - at least if you want to stay in the long term relationship;0) and always tell her how the latest part complements her hair and don't forget dinner! Oh - and flowers - makes you seem romantic and takes her mind off the bike! Remind her all the time how much the bike saves in commuting, and don't forget the little errand running to prove bikes worth (never mind the fun of the ride!) - hehehe - yup - one serving of Dark side comming up! I knew there were others Blasting on the Dark side! I collect the Gifs as I surf. I have a ton but because of the limits to download sizes and my lack of knowledge on how to shrink them some of my coolest have yet to be seen - I learn as I go - I'll figure it out sooner or later;0) - the flowers are always a nice touch - don't forget to give here flowers again in about ten days so she doesn't associate flowers with bike. Blasting on the Dark side is suiting up on Super Bowl sunday for an all day ride - knowing the roads are yours, meeting people on-line who share your passion and wondering what road their riding now?, Riding with a stranger - the only thing you share is good taste in bikes - yet when we take our helmets off we're both grinning, trying to think of another color your bike would look good in - hours pass & crickets sang - perhaps - flat black, passing a fellow Bueller and knowing who it is by their bike, cruising by the ocean at night - waves crashing - thumping along - fog crossing the road in sinuous tendrils. Blasting on the Dark Side is working on carbon fiber body panels, or decelerating and watching people look around for the Harley making all that noise, or having car loads of admirers waving as you pass, or even just going to the grocery store and having someone say to you "I am so jealous!". The Dark Side is the best place to be. | ||

Blasting 0n the Dark side is sending your wife to look at land between Placerville and Lake Tahoe on wednsday so that I'll have my route to go check it out by bike saturday, doing a hundred miles to get a tool and finding out later there was a store 15 miles away and replying who cares, wishing there was a stray cat or chicken near buy to sacrifice to Papa JuJu for cursing the person who scratched my mirror, drag racing a truck - beating it soundly and then having the guy point to his work helmit and seeing a Buell sticker and getting a big thumbs up, hoisting one for a fellow Blaster - each one of you - got Thump! & are Just Blasting on the Dark side! Blasting on the Dark side is enjoying the feel of your bike on the road even in stormy weather, enjoying the sound of your bike as you run through the gears, picking up the new (to me;0) stock red Blast in the ussual pouring rain and smilling while the tires slide and the bike quietly works though its gears - already broken in - quiet - smooth - too relaxing - my smile grows in anticipation of the evil that shall be bestowed upon her - turning her from purring kitten to wild growling creature of the night! A friend of mine at DP is helping a buddy tune in his ride - a totally stripped and dropped Dyna with a Merc eng. cooking hot - I'm picking up a part - leaving - hook around him fast I hear him roaring behind me and starting to scrape parts to keep up - lost him -(he really thought that thing could handle - set it up cafe style - lol)- Sooo - yea I'd say thats Blasting on the Dark side! Blasting on the Dark side is picking yourself up, your bike and riding home wondering at the stupidity of Bus Drivers! Icing and alternating with heat your knee which is way too big and working your knee with every ounce of pain you can take single mindedly aiming yourself towards your first Battle Trax. Riding the little red stocker is first very painfull then by weeks end fun! The true test awaits - saturday I pull out Vader - gleaming a soft black like a dare - the pain to the post office and back was exsquisite! Sunday - errands are painfull and shifts stiff - pain just constant - no biggie. Today - to work - very stiff - still slow shifting - worries! The ride home perfect! Cruised thru downtown traffic - cutting like a knife and then from the bottom curve of Market to Towers sweet fast green all the way! Cut into my lane for home - rev it a few times for the old guy and pull in parking it - a smile on my face! Stiff, soar - ice on the knee once again - yea I'm going to have fun! I definately got Thump!? And I'm definately Blasting on the Dark side! EZ  | ||

Blasting on the Dark Side is knowing that everyone at work (St. Paul HD) can tell when I'm a few blocks away on my way in, or scaring the bejeebers out of some guy on his new Deuce when I pulled up behind him at a stoplight. It was too funny, he was revving his engine, so I thought I would, too. He heard me, then slowly turned around to see what kind of monster was behind him. I just smiled and waved. p.s. The pipe a fiend piper calling an insane song - the smile reflecting my hearts dark joy - the looks priceless, knowing oneness of the ride tinted by each curve - desires realized!
