And just like beautiful ladies, they cost lots of money to keep. The retro cafe look is kind of refreshing. |

Why not put the price of the bike in this thread? Maybe there is some interest. "And just like beautiful ladies, they cost lots of money to keep." Mine hasn't (Ducati or lady). Greg_e, Are you speaking from personal Ducati experience or a reputation. I'm just curious. Twintour, what's the price or is it a trade only deal? |

i see they are comparable hp and weight to a buell. whats the handling like? is it more of a cruiser or can it be ridden hard when the need arises? and yes i would like to see a price also. btw what estimated hp with pipes? |

"whats the handling like? is it more of a cruiser or can it be ridden hard when the need arises?" See if this helps answer your question. http://www.ducshop.com/pr52.php They ride Paul Smart editions of the Sport Classic and are on track for a third championship in the MotoGT2 class. |

Cruiser!!!, Ducati doesn,t make cruisers!!!! More torque and HP than my buell ,but does require a little more input from the rider for crisp handling. Overall I'm faster on the Duck. Just got back from Buelltoberfest in Ga. ,if you were there or knew anyone there ,it gets the job done. It's forsale for $7000 This is the only year the bike came with single shock on one side and dual pipes on the other. If you like sport classics this was the year to have 2006! I was at BTF3 and can confirm that that bike is as fast as it is beautiful. I was drooling over it the minute I walked into camp. Super clean ride, I just wish I had a Uly to trade. |

"speaking from personal Ducati experience or a reputation." I have a couple of friends who have owned (and own) many various vintages of Ducatis and they are very happy with overall reliability. They do however require more frequent scheduled maintenance making them a bit more expensive in regards to cost of ownership. I personally would have bought one if the dealership was a little closer to where I live. My favorite is the Classic 1000. |

I have read of many people waiting very long for parts to come in from overseas too, but that may be a local dealer issue. I do know someone that owns one, and last time I saw him he said he loved it, he's a cop down in the DC area (one of the suburbs down there). Says there are a bunch in town that he rides with (a Duc club of some sort). He also has a YSR50 that he fools with every once in a while. |

didnt mean to offend "Twintour". I am a big Ducati fan and have always loved the monster since i was a kid. What i was actually asking about the handling was how good it handled. I did read about the adjustable rear shock and non-adjustable front forks. That means alot if you clock faster times on the Ducati. I would love to pick up this bike but alas i am hurt from my previous run-in with a car so itll have to wait. |

I don't want to pollute Twintours thread, but I would like to get this straight since he is trying to sell his bike and people may be getting the wrong idea. Kalali, my question "speaking from personal Ducati experience or a reputation." was due to the "they cost lot's of money to keep" comment. If someone has had one and it costs more to keep, I can understand the comment. But, some just speak from hearing stories and I was trying to get that straight. I guess you can answer the same question, but it sounds like you haven't owned one and your friends have. "They do however require more frequent scheduled maintenance making them a bit more expensive in regards to cost of ownership." Not true, if you are going by mileage, but Ducati does have some recommended time guidelines also. I have a 2007 Ducati and had a 2006 Uly. The scheduled maintenance was more frequent on the Buell (every 5000) than is on the Ducati (every 7500). In the long run the Ducati may cost "a bit more" in scheduled maintenance due to valve checks and belts, but scheduled maintenance is not more often. I don't thinks those comments were meant in a bad way, I'm not trying to argue or irritate anyone and don't want to get into a big which one costs more discussion in this thread. But Twintour is trying to sell or trade his bike and people should not get the wrong info. |
