Like the title says, I am just wondering if there is any way to get ECM Spy now that they have shut down the project. I just got a laptop and would love to be able to fidget with my ECM but it may be too late. Thanks in advance Garrett |

Do a Google search for "Ecmspy Download", if you look around you can still find it. |

You will need to buy or build a cable too. Google can get you to the software, that's one place I found it. |

Since Buell has now been discontinued I am assuming nobody is working on making anymore software. So would there be any reason to buy an EMCspy cable for a '09 Lightning? |

Now that Buell is no more I would hope this would spur the production of one last version that will cover the newer machines. You certainly wouldn't need any more updates after this one last try. The DirectLink software is said to work with the newer machines, but I do not think it is free. If someone could get the info to the guys that write MegaTune for the MegaSquirt/MicroSquirt/etc. they might be interested in taking on the challenge. |

It's a damn shame they closed up shop to the rest of the world. Free software to tune your bike has to be one of the coolest things anyone has ever offered the Buell community. Sad that some people took advantage of it to make a quick buck and pissed them off. ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on October 28, 2009) |

I know that after shipping is figured in I'm at pretty much a break even on the cables that I've sold. I'd have to buy in much larger quantities to be able to make more than a dollar or two for the labor of putting them together and taking them to be shipped. Maybe if I get the wireless devices working Gunter will trade me for a copy of the newest and bestest ECMspy for myself. |

Look it up as a torrent file. |

Never grab things like this on a torrent, you never know what some idiot has done to the file. There are good known downloads available and if they dry up all one needs to do is a search here and send a PM and I'm certain the software will spring forward. That P2P stuff is beyond my last resort and I know my way around the dark back alleys so don't put me down as a frightened noob when it comes to finding "things". I know why P2P is dangerous and used to know a few people that made it that way. |

Virii and jerks that like to either mess up to file so you spend a bunch of time downloading something useless or just rename the files and give you junk that you would never want. For some people that kind of stuff is fun. And they are starting to target Macs now too (which I think is funny). |

I believe you can down load the DirectLink software at no charge but the catch is that you have to buy a 'key' for each bike in order for the software to communicate. The key is $200-&250 and locks itself to the first ecm it contacts. Each bike requires it's own key. |

And Directlink is probably built on the foundation of ECMspy unless it comes from the manufacturer of the ECM. |

Directlink was around before ECMspy was. It is made by TechnoResearch. |

OK, then maybe I got it backwards. I'd gladly drop $50 or a little more on ECMspy if it would keep updates flowing. $200 each is a bit much, I'd swap to a different EFI system before I did that. A Microsquirt is only around $400 and comes with the free Megatune software. I'm sure I could get it to run in Alpha-n without too much modification (and will probably try it sometime soon). |
