32 mpg is pretty usual (after 5000 miles on 09-R). Best I have ever done is 34 mpg. This doesn't result in a whole lot of of range. Usually looking for fuel at 125 miles. |

Just as a general statement, most motors get better fuel efficiency after break in. Obviously if you ride like a maniac after break-in, you'll not see the improvement in economy. |

Anyone try the Metzeler Z6 Interac tires yet? I think I'd like a higher mileage tire for most use, and if I ever do go back on the track, I can just swap the tires out beforehand. Haven't checked my mileage recently, but it was nowhere NEAR what I used to get on the XB12Ss and even my K1200LT gets better mileage (and that thing weighs 850 lbs with a full load of fuel). |

I'm getting 35mpg to 40mpg depending how hard I am on the throttle. Bike has 4,000 miles in California weather. 09 Cr (Message edited by freezerburn840 on November 03, 2009) |

I have about 12k miles on the bike and average about 36 mpg. thats commuting around, descent amount of accelerating. I went on a 300 mile trip and averaged about 42 mpg. So, there is a lot of variables that will alter your fuel mileage. As for the rear tire, i don't know how many miles was on it before i bought the bike at 4600 miles, but the rear will last at least a couple more months, to the end of the season for me. I expect about another 1k miles. I am relatively calm on the bike, between looking at for law enforcement, sand, bad drivers, pot holes, etc. I spiritly ride once in a while, wish it was all the time every where though :/ -Nivek (Message edited by nivek on November 03, 2009) |

Hey just my opinion but we didn't buy hybrids. I ride as hard as I want and when the light goes on I put gas in it. |
