Well guys, I am now a 1125R owner and Lynn is a XB12SCG rider. I do not have the bikes but went up to start the paperwork, put the down payment down.
I do not think Jody told anyone and if he was waiting to tell you all in person then too bad. Jody bought a 1125R in Black.
The people at HCHD as always were the best. Everyone expressed their disappointment in the recent Buell activity. I talked tot eh owner and he is dedicated to supporting Buell in the near term. Bones, as always was running around making sure bikes were getting out the door and taking care of my stuff. Bones is a true motorcycle enthusiast and like me I think he would be riding a moped if that was all that was out there.
Zac was busy doing the parts gig and we got to have lunch together and cry over our recent loss.

The crate wrapper the bike came in.
I got a new patch while there since they had someone doing patch sewing. Us Harley guys used to do this during the AMF days to show out dissatisfaction with the factory...FTF

Nice job Frank, that white/blue 1125R was always my favorite.
I wish I were in a position to add one to my stable too.

I met a XB12X and a XB12R rider in the parking lot and hope they find there way to this site. Denny was on a Uly and I do not think I got the guys name on the Red 2004 XB12R...
I really need to get some more CBR cards up to Dave so he can get the word out. Now, more than ever, it is really important that we have a tight group of Buell Enthusiast.
Funny thing, Denny made me laugh, he is as upset as we are about the recent activities from HD. He had a big HD patch on his jacket and I told him to go and get it flipped. I think he was actually going to do it. I did not stick around to see since Zac and I went to lunch. |

I am so excited about being a new Buell owner. 
Frank will still need to do some work on my bike, we will have to lower her 2 inches, but Dave at the shop gave us a name of a guy in Elizabeth Colorado that can do that.
I can't wait!!
Julie once I get the bike ready for me, I will need to get with you to get some pointers about riding a Buell....
I test rode a Blast at homecoming and did ok...the biggest thing for me to get used to is how I sit and lean with the XB, ....when I ride my Nightster I sit(lean) back more .....so I am sure my Center will be off a bit...

Congratulations. Best colors for a 1125r and scg. Went to Rocky Mt. Harley today. Ok deals but not great. Would not deal off their asking price. |

Lynn, I can't wait to ride with you. It will be so much fun. Another GIRL on a Buell. I love it. It took me, probably, a good 1 1/2 to 2 years to really start to get comfortable with my bike.
We need to get together and do a track day in the spring. It's the best place to really learn what you and your bike can do. I'm actually going to take a 4 hrs private lesson with Mark from Vanmar Racing in the spring. It will probably be out at High Plains. It's my birthday present from Dan. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!
Dan didn't want me to say anything, but I must. We will be going up to HCHD next Sat to pick up a Black 1125CR for me (and Dan haha) |

I was soo....excited about everything yesterday that it took my forever to fall asleep....not only did I get the Buell of my dreams.... .....
I also received my grade back for my final Thesis for my graduate work and pulled off a 95% on it...yeah!!!....I am just waiting for the oral presentation part of it to get graded.... .....
So now its time to get a job...darn!!  |

Thanks for taking the snap shot for me Frank. That white with blue sure is a pretty bike. I wonder how "used" the slicks on mine are?
By the way, I got Jodie out on her new bike this morning and she was doing pretty good after a few runs up and down Red Canyon Road. I'm still waiting to hear from her that she got back to Aspen okay. I asked her out in advance for a track date. Of course she won't take her cruiser on the track, but I think she will be stoked just to hang out. I'm also guessing Julie will talk her into doing a track day. Just a guess.  |

We had a nice ride today, however, we got stopped at the lookout heading into Deckers. They closed the road to Deckers as there was a fatality involving 2 bikers. BUMMER. Didn't hear any more info. It's always a drag hearing about deaths. My heart goes out to the families left behind. They were waiting for the choppers to get there.

Yikes, I hate to hear about the fatalities. I hope it wasn't one of the many Buellers who routinely meet at Deckers on Sundays. Although it is dreadful to hear about I hope we can get some information on what caused the incident. I'm a firm believer in learning from accidents. |

Joseph, I hope Jodie arrives home safe and sound. I was nice meeting her yesterday. That sure is a pretty bike she has.
I do not think you are getting those tires. I am thinking they will put new ribber on it for you.
When is everyone going up to pickup there bikes? That is something I would like to see. As it stands right now Lynn cannot ride the XB until I lower it so they are still at the dealer.
I got a call from another Bueller today and hopefully Bud will find his way to our little section of the BadWeb. It is always great to hear from Buellers and really great to hear from tuber riders.

I got on the cosportbike site and did see many postings about the accident. It sounds like 3 bikes were involved but only one person died. It was a girl riding a GSXR600. One guy went down and she ran into him and went over the guardrail about 50-100 ft. It sounds like it happened going down HP Hill heading towards Deckers.
Very sobering... Now Dan's on my butt shaking his finger at me
Our ride home was at a much slower pace.

Frank, we're planning on going up on Sat the 24th to sign the papers and take her home. Depending on the weather, if it's too cold, the 1125cr may ride in the trailer.
And, Jody, keep in touch with us. You're welcome to come up Fri night and stay here so we can get an early start. Let us know. |

Oh boy, Harley Credit denied me... for limited credit history and insufficient collateral, I believe is what Russ said. As I told him, I don't need HD Credit, and they didn't look at my credit history since I have had multiple car loans, credit cars, student loans, and even a mortgage in the past 10 years. Any way, I told him if I have to, I can put it on a credit card, but I would prefer to have something worked out with a bank or credit union before I go up on Saturday. I'm going to talk to a few local banks between now and then and see what I can come up with.
The sooner we are all out from under the HD corporate shadow the better. Like Court said, there is hope for a Buell silver lining. |
