Anyone using luggage on their CR? I searched and found a thread on some Cortech pieces, but the reviews were mixed. I responded to the thread, but I think it's "stuck" in the archives. Not sure how that works...... Anyway, looking for some tail/saddle bags for the soon to be picked up CR. Any recommendations (links would be helpful) would be great!! Pics too if you have them. Thanks, Chris |

I got the little soft Buell saddlebags. Nice fit and I think I'll leave them on there semi-permanently. Enough for casual items or a weekend trip - I'm happy. KeS |

I'm using the Wolfman Min-Beta bag on my 1125CR, don't know exactly how many liters but it's got lots of room for a weekend trip... http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tail/mini_beta.html ...straps onto the passenger rails and under neath the tail section. Easy on easy off. I had the Cortech saddle bags and tail bag on my Lightning and I like the wolfman bag much better as it's one piece that goes on much quicker. -Chris |

I have the larger Buell tail bag. It's a nice piece. Borders on too large. The system of straps to affix it to the bike is absurd (five straps according to the directions). I will be simplifying it to use custom-fit elastic/bungee straps. I also use the less expensive Buell tank bag. I moved it over from my XB12Ss. I highly recommend that -- much more than the tail bag. It uses three quick-release fasteners that attach to the tank screws and it is easy to remove. The more expensive Buell tank bag might be nice if you have a lot of small stuff to haul (camera, MP3 player, cell phone, that kind of stuff), but the compartmentalization isn't what I wanted. I also didn't like all of the pockets on the outside of that tank bag. Hope that helps. |

Yep, we are doing Cortech luggage. Looks good on the 1125R/CR: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 502276.html?1256580183 |

Chris, Do you have any pics of the luggage? The link has one pic and you can't expand it. |

Ft_b Any issues with the Cortech Saddle bags rubbing? I had some Joe Rocket soft bags on my XB9S and they did some damage to the passenger peg mounts. |

I no longer have the Lighting, but just in case anyone was looking to put some Cortech on an XB12S here are some picture of my 2007 XB12S TT with and without the larger set of Cortech saddlebags and dufflebag, and a super mini tank bag. .

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the Wolfman bag itself or of the bag on the 1125CR. I am planning a trip this weekend and will try to remember to take some pictures of the bag on the bike before I leave. I am using the Cortech Super-Mini Tank bag on the CR as it was the same I used on my Lightning. |

I just wish that someone would make a quick-release hard luggage bracket (perhaps Givi compatible) for Buell 1125R and CR models. I'm tired of dealing with buckles and straps and hooks. I get annoyed with having to decide whether to carry all of my soft luggage with me or risk it, and the contents, being stolen. How much sweeter of a mounting point can you ask for than the ones used for Buell passenger peg brackets? |

also use the less expensive Buell tank bag. I moved it over from my XB12Ss. I just ordered a replace set of latches for my deluxe Buell bag. That way I can leave the straps on the Uly and the CR and just move the tank bag as needed. The total cost for the new straps was around $6.00. Ft_bstrd, does the Cortech only come in blue? I bought these Nelson-Rigg Mini-sport bags, #SSC140, for about $65.00 about a year ago. They are not for touring but carry enough, i.e. Extra warm/rain gear, camera, a few extra tools, and a snack and beverage. Just right for that 200-500 mile day. Easy on and off in minutes. Bob

I have the Buell tail bag on my 1125R and plan on getting the side bags. Then the tail bag just clips onto the side bags. I like the built-in rain covers. Tank bags: I experimented with an Eclipse that I have from another bike, but found that it increased wind noise and turbulence a lot. Anyone else ever notice tank-bag turbulence? |
