So here is the story... I am getting a new 12r, but I already have a 9r, that has plenty of aftermarket parts... I want to transfer most of the parts; so here are my questions. The 12r has a exhaust valve, I have an open air box ( you know that one that just has a cap on top of the filter) and a race exhaust can. What do I do with the actuator and the valve? Secondly, can I take the Race ecm from the 9 and put it into the 12? Thanks, I will probably be back with more here soon, so thank you for your leniency on dealing with a dummy (me). Alex |

New as in 09/10 or new as in new too you? The exhaust servo needs to stay connected or you will get a check engine light. You can either turn it off using 3rd party software, or leave it connected and off to the side. Race ECM will not work regardless without being remapped as its setup for a 9. If your 9 uses the same DDFI system as your new bike, then you can transfer the ECM and remap it. |

Sorry for the unclear verbiage... New as in '09, its the time to buy, so I am looking at what needs to be done before I get it. So any recommendations on additions then? ...If my 9r stuff wont work? Thanks, Alex |

Ok that makes it easy. Short and sweet: No the ECM will not work period, different fuel injection systems. Get the pipe put on, and get it tuned with the stock ECM. Not sure if Directlink can disable the actuator, but if not you can just move it off to the side just plugged in. |

ECM from a 9 will not physically fit on a post 07 model. Fuel maps would have been wrong as V_d says. AMC (exhaust servo) can be fooled - http://www.ukbeg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13 75 |
