Ok update: I talked to the service guys at the HD dealer and they are doing everything they can to make sure the bike is fixed correctly. Also i am not mad at this dealer im just frustrated that i can't ride the bike now due to the drum oversight. I like the guys at this dealer and this is why i will deal with them. They have always taken care of the problems on my bike. I drive 18 miles just to have them do work for me. So you guys at the dealer thanks for the help and the promptness of your services. They have always stood behind there work and i can't be upset with them too much as they always make good on the problems. (Message edited by preybird1 on October 20, 2009) |

Got my shift drum back from machinist last week, $45 bucks versus $300 for baker smooth shift. Noticed the Flywheel output shaft seal is leaking, so now waiting on those, found the tool for $25 but is on back order so hopefully later this week will have everything I need to put it back together. On the plus side, just about every known issue will be taken care of after this, hopefully making for many problem free miles (knock on wood).

What size screw did you tap it for? Also, looks like you silver soldered the pins in? |

M8 1.25p screw. Yep had pins silver soldered in so they won't back out. Also had the drum polished up a bit and the edges of the channels smoothed out a bit. In the process of replacing 1st gear now, man I hate snap rings. |

Are you redoing the 5th gear drive assembly? That'll make the snap rings look like a cake walk (but you should probably do it anyway, unless those bearings are perfect) |

Hmmm, wasn't planning on it, but I'll take a closer look. Bike only has 9k on it, so I'd hope they're in good shape, will check though. |
