I have seen many of you who have polished the tail section and swingarm on the X1. Is there a preference for polishing as opposed to chroming those pieces? Is it just based on the price difference between chrome and polishing? |

Polished aluminum is my preference, regardless of cost. I think it looks richer than plating. Brushed aluminum can look very good too. I guess it's all a matter of personal choice. That said, I think that nickel plated Buell frames do look great. |

polishing will always look like crap unless you constantly maintain it. Even if it just sits and collects dust, it will look crappy quick without maintenance. If I had it to do over again, I'd either plate, or powdercoat. (she'll never look that clean again - but she's still a lotta fun to ride!) |
