I recently purchased this bike and didnt look it over as well as I should. It wasnt charging, I replaced the stator and regulator. After doing this the bike dies in a few minutes. It has a Dyna 2000i ignition and the status light blinks fast when it dies indicating overcurrent. the o2 is cut, however it was running well.If I unplug the charge wire coming from the regulator it runs fine (till the battery dies). Any ideas? I dont think its over charging and have tryed a different regulator but couldnt give you any exact numbers. Any help is sincerly appriciated. Emmettrider |

What is the voltage at the batt. when running? Check it first thing in the morning with the bike being cold. I purchased an Accel regulator years ago and it was throwing 18volts! Way too high! |

Might be a faulty ignition, could also be a loose wire. Won't be the first time a Dyna failed! My mom's fat boy had one, and it would randomly die and strand her. They stood behind their product and replaced it. No problems since. |

That's Just Wrong on so many levels. He's right, Dyna ignition have had a checkered pass with the durameter IMHO. |

I talked to Larry at Dyna. He told me to check the white wire going to the primary side of the coil for battery voltage. If present send the module in to them. |

Dyna said the ignition was defective. The over current circut was killing the bike when no overcurrent was present. The 2000i that was in it was 6 years old and out of warranty. But they charged me $112, alot cheaper than there advertised for. Wired it in last night and seems to be running fine. Thank You again for all the help,Id have still been chasing my tail. Regards, Kent |

Nice bike. Did you fabricate that piece next to the tank? Looks like a "modified" OEM intake cover. What does the other side look like? I am looking for a way to fill-in those areas as well. Thanks. |

Acording to dyna, no sensors are needed to run the 2000i ingition, wich explains the cut sensors with no where to go. I will be giving it a good cleaning, so far a the the side covers the one you can see came that way and I think its the oe one cut down. the other one is oe and untouched . Kent |

Nice looking bike Kent! I'm glad to hear Dyna looked out for you, that says a lot about them. Take your time testing and setting that ignition. There is alot of ponies too be had if set right! |
