I have the Palmer brackets and the low X shield. Now it is COLD and I need a big shield. Tried to get my big Slipstream to want to fit the brackets but it is not curved right. Thinking the Cee Bailey or Palmer large shield are curved right. Anybody been here before? Thanks |

I have a Cee Bailey's large shield but I don't think it will work with the Palmer brackets because it mounts in place of the from shield with the six screws. Unless Cee Baileys makes another shield that I don't know about. |

Thanks...that Parabellum looks like a great way to figure right height over time of trimming it down to fit. The Cee Bailey had a proper curve so I figured I could drill the 4 holes. Thanks again. (I am 6'2" with 33" inseam). |

I have a cut down to 17" parabellum that I took off my Uly before I sold it. It worked well with the palmer brackets. It has two small holes for a brace before the palmer brackets where put on. I did a crappy job of cutting down the shield so I put a saeng edge around the shield. Looks professional. $60 and it's yours. Bob |

Bienhoabob...going for the 28 if I do this one. I like Electroglider's deal...I think what has happened with the screen behind the screen is that the stock Uly shield is taking the brunt and the secondary screen can be tied to handlebars without taking wind vibration to the bar/hands which is one of the negatives to bar mounts. Also...plenty of air to cut the negative atmosphere in the cab area. I have created such negative air in the past on another bike I sucked exhaust into my little air pocket and about did myself in. Can you imagine CO poisoning on a motorcycle? Murphy follows me around... |

Bob, do you have a pic of that parabellum? I may be interested in it. Thanks! Charlie |

The Parabellum with Memphis Shade lowers is going to be about the best weather protection you're going to get. The shield width is mirror stem to mirror stem. Height is adjustable with the Palmer brackets. I don't have any close up shots of the shield. Or try the Palmer site, under customer photos. 11th pic down. http://palmerproducts.auto.officelive.com/cust.aspx (Message edited by bienhoabob on October 04, 2009) |

Another note about Parabellum ... he shows a couple of sizes but he can pretty much make any size... you just need to talk to him (Charly). I have a 16" that I use during the cold weather with the MadStad brackets. |

Eullysses, I noticed my moniker above so I've included the link to my setup. I've used it this way for better than 3 years now. Modified CeeBailey with Slipstreamer Rods. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/213105.html I'm 6'1" with my boots on and I tried this setup with a Hellfire Slipstreamer windshield (before settling on the modified CB) and it was just an inch or two short for me. It would work great for someone a bit shorter than I and especially if you are on a shorter seat. I think this looks pretty good though and fit right across the fairing like it was made for it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/212532.html Buellhusker took that idea and even did a bit of heat gun work to make it a bit different and I saw his handywork at the last Homecoming. He loved his Hellfire setup. |

Electra...that is a slick job you did and makes a lot of sense. If I had not mounted my Palmer brackets and headed down that road I would have rigged my Slipstream behind the X small shield like you. Just put the Slipstream on the P brackets tonight...about nose level on the low setting...looks fine. Set it based on levels and taping...drilled holes by rolling the screen over the OEM screen to mark them...then put a ratchet strap on it to curve it when mounting. So far so good...will give it a good old Uly shaking sometime tomorrow. Weather has warmed up! |
