Can someone tell me when i replace my jardine slip on, is it common or necessary to tune the engine if i am using the exact exhaust???? | ||

Since the Jardines need periodic repacking, one that's all burnt out might act different than a new one. I'm only speculating, but if you've kept up on the packing I wouldn't think there would be any change. | ||

The packing burns out of the Jardine slip ons. As this happens, they get louder and louder. They need to be repacked with insulation periodically. I was just saying that an old burnt out Jardine with no packing left might work differently and possibly make the bike run differently than fitting a brand new muffler that has fresh packing. I'm no expert, just a thought. In other words if both are perfect, why would there be any difference? You must be changing it for some reason. Either it's bent up or worn out or maybe you are switching from aluminum to carbon. But you'd think two of the same mufflers in the same condition would work the same. Worn out compared to new, ehh, maybe not. | ||

Thanks for the advice guys. Sticks, and anyone with any expertice. I bought the bike from a Harley dealership in Fla. abought 3 years ago. I fell in love with buells. The previous owner put that jardine on the bike. I really dont know much about them except for the fact i like the exhaust. I guess i will just install it and go from there. | ||

Replaced my Stock muffler with the Jardine one and did not re-map the bike... it would be best to re-map it (using dyno and all), but I don't think it's possible on the '08+ bikes (mine's an '09) since ecmspy doesn't work yet on these (and may never work)... To answer your question: no, you do not NEED to re-map the bike... you can install it and GO!!!!!  |
