I have a 08 Uly XT. I am finding out that ECMSpy is no longer available. However, I did find a guy selling the cable and a copy of the software. I have heard that it doesn't work on 2008 models and up. He states it DOES work, but it is more difficult to use. I'm not clear on what that means exactly but its a bit scary. This being said, whats the story?? Assuming it is usable and just not 'supported'... my main issue is a burp or hesitation off idle. Sometimes. So much so that it has died half way thru a light few times. Nearly got me ran over once. Also it seems to have some dead spots across the RPM range. It's getting about 29 mpg and really kinda runs flat while doing it. The bike only has 2k miles on it. So, I realize it has some run in left. It also has the newest ECM load from HD. Oddly, when I whined about the crappy MPG they discovered that the active baffle was not actually fuctioning. THe servo was moving, but the baffle itself wasn't. During the week I was awaiting parts they rigged the baffle wide open. Seat of the pants told me the bike actually ran better without the 'help' of the active exhaust. I didn't seem to burp either. Anyway, I assume that a remap would really help this bike. Extra power would always be welcome too. I'm new to this board. I want to thank everyone in advance for their input and guidance. ~R~ |

Touchy subject.... I've used it to set the AFV on my '08 no differently then that on my '04. I'm not sure what the limitations are or what will and will not work. Hard to know for sure as there's been countless posts on here. Some say yes, most say no. I'm not an ECMspy pro but have used it. For those who say no, what part doesn't work? Mine will run diagnostics, reset the CEL and AFV, fetch and save the EEPROM. So.... what's the deal? |

It's been a while since that post but I'd sure see about warranty work if it only gets 29 mpg. That's eating fuel like a 3,000 lb. mini-van. Hopefully it has been taken care of. |
