My connectors did not come with specs on the crimp die I should use, does anyone know what size hex crimp I should use? Looks like a 0.090 inch or so is the correct size. I have 0.100, 0.068, and a few smaller dies I can use. The 0.100 looks to be too big and the 0.068 looks too small by a long shot. |

I crimp pins on a regular basis for work. These pins seem to be just off of a standard. What I did was solder the connections and carefully used a small pair of needle nose to fold the open ends over. Tin your lines first. It'll make it easier to work with. Makes for a better connection anyways. |

Silver solder was the next choice if I couldn't find a crimper for them. I might be able to borrow something that should work as they are similar size to some of the connectors I use in the TV field. The 0.100 didn't even leave a mark on the pins, so I know it is smaller than that and probably a metric size. They look like really nice connectors. Funny thing happened... I bought two of them from ebay and they arrived. Two more arrived today??? Guess I'll need to visit the post office next week when I hear back from the seller. |

Or maybe spares if you hear nothing. What do you do? I recently worked for a college TV station as an integration/fix somebodies screw up engineer. I build broadcast and replay systems now. Did before the TV station stint as well. |

Well if they don't want the extras back, I'll probably buy a bunch more FTDI adapters and sell a few completed cables. Need to pull out the damn TFI controller before I can get things back to right.

I'm not familiar with the TFI. What does it do? |

I think it fouls up the stock ECU and tries to fool it into sending more fuel through the injectors, one of the supplemental systems like power commander. They explain it as similar to adjusting the jetting on a carb and it has 3 ranges that you adjust including low speed and full throttle. Whatever it is I'm trying to sell it for enough to cover the exhaust mounting hardware that I need to put the stock muffler back on. |
