I was ~this~ close to buying a cr when I double checked insurance quotes on it. I'm also expecging my insurance to go up next year when I renew due to the accident I just had. I guess the insurance assumes I'm going to be more dangerous on a CR over an XB? ...I dunno. they're probably right. |

When I was looking at a dealer I mentioned the insurance was outrageous. They gave me a Sentry insurance agents card. I called and the guy quoted $481 for an '08 1125R. Sentry does motorcycle insurance through Dairyland, and the agent claimed they went to Buell and worked with them to figure out their costs. I'm 45 yrs old also which may have helped. Call around and check a few places. |

I'm with Dairyland (Sentry). I was paying about $500 a year for full coverage on my Ulysses, and liability only on my Gixxer 600 and Kymco scooter. When I added the CR, it more than doubled and I dropped the Gixxer and put liability only on the Ulysses. I shopped around, and Geico was the closest to Dairyland, but still a bit more. |

I pay about 1k/year for Progressive. Clean record, no points. Nobody could even come close to that, including Geico and Dairyland. The first year I had my 1125R, it was $400ish/year. I called Progressive about the increase and they said the bike was reclassified. Oh well. Still worth it. |

Chad, try Farm Bureau. For a 08 Honda Civic, 04' F-150, 04' ST1300 and the 08 1125 we pay less than $1500/ year. The Civic is the most. When I bought the 1125 there was no change from the 04' 12r I had. Maybe because it's a "bagger" :+} |

Just checked state farm. They were actually pretty good. Only 500 buxs a year, but the reason I'm shopping for a new bike is because I totaled my XB last week. This made the rate double. I guess I'll just stick with another XB and with progressive my rate will only go up next spring by 100 bux. |

I'm using Arrowhead Exchange and I pay 600.00 a year. I consider it very good because my record is pretty bad (speeding tickets). You guys should try it. |

Shop around. No one company is best for everyone, even given the same bike and record. Dairyland offers huge discounts for home ownership, for example. Not insuring a home, but simply OWNING one. |

$1200 consider yourself lucky. I don't even want to talk about the lowest insurance price I was able to find for my 08 1125r. Full coverage is definitely worth it IMO from experience, however. New bike and new model that's the way it goes I guess. |

i have state farm and mine went up $4.00 a month from a 09 blast to an 08 1125r it all depends on the company really you can get good rates from one and your neighbor get crappy rates from the same company there are alot of factors involved that really dont make sense and i wouldnt even wanna try to make sense of them. shop around and youll see just what i mean when one company quotes hundreds more for the same insurance than the next one does |

State Farm was the best deal that I could find back in June. Apparently they base their rates on displacement and not the "exotic status" or according to H.P.. C |

State Farm must insure a ton of sportbikes and very few cruisers. That sounds like a very short sighted actuarial methodology. |

I have my cars with State Farm, but had my motorcycle coverage with Sentry/Dairyland. State Farm wanted $85/mo for the Uly. Sentry/Dairyland wanted $300 for the year. State Farm doesn't like motorcycles. |

Yep, State Farm quoted me $1800/yr for the 1125R. Then again, Progressive quoted me $2100/yr. Not sure how they all figure it, since there is such a disparity of the rates people get. |

Ouch, my 12R was 389/year and the 1125R is 803/year with Progressive, I guess I should keep my record clean. I had another insurer before, but they dropped my ski for the lamest reason. |
