I called the guy. He owes more to H-D Credit than he's asking for the bike. (I believe the term is upside down) He has no money to pay off the loan. The bike has been modified with a custom dual muffler exhaust. He sold the stock exhaust and chin fairing (which no longer fits). I was ready to buy it, but there are a few obstacles to overcome. | ||

I was going to go look at it for a guy that emailed me, he stated that he is backing out of the sale because he can't get the title due to owing more money than he is selling it for. | ||

Yes, very strange indeed. The seller said in his last email to me that he is trying to figure out what to do. He's been trying to sell the CityX since November. He told me he wants a bigger Harley so he can take his wife riding. I told him that it appears his only option is to trade in the CityX at the dealer and transfer the balance owed to the new loan. | ||

Sounds to me like he needs to pay down his bike first! Upside down on necessary transport is one thing...on a bike, that's just irresponsible. Seems to me like it's really fishy- "pay me $3500, but I can't transfer the title yet..." |
