Sorry if this is a repost...didn't see it anywhere yet and wanted to make sure it didn't get overlooked. Just got a letter in the mail today, Buell has issued a notice of a defect in certain 09 XB12Ss bikes built between 30 June 08 and 4 July 09. The front brake line on the affected bikes can contact the front tire, causing a hole and loss of break fluid. Service is needed to correct the issue, and there is no charge for the parts and labor. |

Yeah, I got one last week also. Guess this means the bike will be at the dealer for a week. |

I was looking at my bike yesterday and I can't see how the line can come in contact with the tire under any normal operation. |

Mine runs the same way. I was at it and forced it in near the tire but not easy. I have an apointment next week to have it done anyway. |

I can make it touch the fender, but to make it touch the tire, I have to push really hard on it. Just don't see how it would touch the tire with a fender in place. |

Not near my bike right now but any idea if the recall would include May 09 scg? |

Look at the above picture, if your brake line is routed with the line on the inside of the fork, you might be recalled. If your line is on the outside like this: Then you should be fine. Your dealer can check your VIN number to see if the recall applies to your bike and if done or not. |

Got my notice... Dont think its really a problem but going to get it done anyways. Buell needs to do some other work for me anyways so I might as well kill two birds with one stone. |
