So I ordered some frame pucks from the local stealership here in AZ. I call today, about a week after ordering them to see when the ETA would be so that I could throw them on. They go, "oh, it looks like they are on back order..." Would have been nice to tell me that about a week ago. Anyone else hear of this back order for plastic pucks? Alex |

I wish I had HDnet access so I could confirm. If not, American Sport Bike usually has them. |

Remember, HD's computer system is pretty good. The parts people can tell how many are available, where they are and how long it will take to get to you. It's that good. If not, the parts people are jerking you around. Ask when you order. |

Yep, often times the customer gets jerked due to dealer incompetence. The dealer can look and see who has it in stock and can order it from them if needed. Very useful, should you snap your belt and your "spare" ends up being the wrong belt. |

Can I ask them to look, or is that not appropriate behavior. I was looking for forward to riding with some added protection, and some new flare to the look of the bike. Now it looks like I am going to have to wait until... whenever they get them in... Thanks everyone for the help, Alex |

When Im shopping for parts I always ask for price and availability. If they say they havent got it I ask who does. They should know if your asking, you need it and its there job to help. |

True dat. The body shop I work in is at a Ford dealer. If I need a part PDQ and my parts department has to get it from another dealer it costs my parts dept more than if they get it from Ford which in turn costs me more after they put their markup on it. Of course I could order it myself from the other dealer and get it for the same price my parts dept gets it for but higher ups won't let me do that...politics |
