does anyone know exactly how to strip the black powder coating or paint off of stock m2 wheels and how to polish the aluminum underneath? |

you could try an automotive grade stripper but I think you'll be sanding it off, I had to on my tripple clamps , then just finer grades of wet rub , then finish with a buffing wheel. Good luck , lots of work. |

I stripped mine with paint remover. The thick gooey kind. Leave it on til the paint is soft and loosen it with a wooden stick, you'll find the aluminum is bright underneath. Do not use sandpaper! I had to re-apply the paint remover many times to get it to soften the coating. I think the coating is paint because if it was powder coat, paint remover wouldn't work. |
