Can anyone that has these grips compare them to the Traction Grips? How are they for shape? Are they as stiff as the traction grips? ac |

Don't know squish/feel, but they seem to be similar size. The heated grips are less tapered at the ends but about the same thickness as the center. I've had the heated grips since 20 miles on the bike, 22k now. I love them, turned them on the other day, starting to cool off here, 41*F now. Z |

I definitely will be installing some form of heated grips. I like the shape of the traction grips, but I find them too stiff. I wish they made a "gel" version. ac |

IF your heart is set on the traction grips, get an aftermarket heater kit and the Buell heated grip switch from American Sport Bike. OEM look with the grips of your choice. I happen to like the stock and Buell heated grips, so I just used the Buell kit. I don't like the traction grips. |

Froggy, How do the Buell heated grips compare in regards to the "feel" of the grips? Are they softer than the traction grips? ac |

They feel exactly the same as the stock grips in my opinion. Nice and solid rubber, not that foamy squishy crap of the traction grips. I rode a bike once with the traction grips and it felt like I needed more effort to hold onto the bike, and my palms hurt after the ride. Thats just me, so whatever floats your boat. |

Interesting. I find the traction grips to be solid like granite! ac |

No clue on the age/miles on the one I tried. Perhaps it was well broken in? |

I had Traction grips on my Firebolt and they were definitely soft rubber. The heated grips are larger diameter, harder rubber (not much give at all) and don't taper as much. The traction grips were more comfortable for me. |

I dig the traction grips. They aren't soft, but they are sticky/grippy. If you (gasp!) ride without gloves on a really hot day, you kind of have to peel your hand off the grips. You barely need to hold on! R |

I like the heated grips so much I have a set on my track bike. On those cool mornings, I'm out having a great time! |

Trust me, I am aware of the amazingness that is heated grips. Just trying to figure out if I want to heat some aftermarket gel grips or if I want the Buell kit. ac |

Main adavantages of the BMC grips - clean, easy install and dual heater elements. Instead of a resistor heat control, hi/lo uses one/both heaters. I like "fail-safe". Z |
