Selling my forks off the Buell. They have been Re-Valved (225lbs.)with Compression & Rebound circuits (Race Tech) & have G.M.D. spec. Dual Speed pistons, Re-Sprung,(.95 I believe) and just serviced with new seals and Motorex 5 wt. oil. EDIT: My bad...Just looked at the reciept, 550.00 takes them here. Thought I would offer them here first, going in the classifieds today/tomorrow next... (Message edited by firebolteric_ma on September 14, 2009) |

Hey Chip...sorry...didn't see your post until after the party... Scotty would have been able to give you directions... But then again the last discussion I had with him about directions went something like this {fade to memory scene} 'yeah...uh...I just go where the gps thingy tells me to' ...ok ok...maybe he couldn't have given you directions... |

Ripped it to work this morning... So far so good. My fingers will stay crossed for a couple more rides. But I'm optimistic. |

Last few times I rode I thaught I smelled burning oil. Nahh "all in my head" well pulled the seat off for first time in awile peeked around saw that in front of fan was soaked with oil residue! Also aft cylender head/valve cover area all wet. Chip sound familiar? Just turned 6600 on the clock glad I still have "warranty' but I'm afraid to bring it in and have them cause other issues. Blah blah blah looks like no Kanc for me this weekend. |

All too familiar. If the top of the rocker box cover is wet it could just be coming out the breather. It's all not too bad to fix. Just be careful with the torque specs and don't be remodeling your bathroom at the same time. It'll be fixed in no time. |

I just did oil change couple rides back.A little overfilled maybe?Seemed ok after warm up check, My driveway is fairly steep hill. I have been sitting facedown driveway while warming up maybe vent port in swingarm is covered by oil level when I do that? Thanks I will check breather. If gasket leaking I think I will let waranty cover it. Even though I would feel better doing myself. (Message edited by spdrxb on September 15, 2009) |

BTW does anybody know if engine will rotate far enough without exhaust removed if it is aftermarket? I'm assuming you only rotate it enough to work on it thru airbox cutout? Anybody want to chime in? suck it up for price of gaskets and some time or let the fellas at it? |

Must be a bad time for Buells they are dropping like flies around here. Anyone have a belt for an 03?.... mine is starting to crack...I noticed the cracks after Shawn pointed them out to me on Sunday. But I cant see them any more after I spent the late afternoon doing wheelies (I was trying to brake it). I guess I'm gonna have to wait till it brakes or till winter hits whatever happens first, but if anyone has an 03 belt laying around I'd love to take it off your hands. |

The muffler needs to be removed to rotate the engine far enough down. If not you won't gain enough room to correctly remove/install the rocker boxes & covers. Rotate the engine down as per the shop manual. It is actually pretty easy once you have done it. Just do it yourself. That way you know it will be done correctly. While you are there you may as well upgrade with the Genuine James intake seals and replace the exhaust header gaskets with the Screamin Eagle ones. Spider.....! Thank you jim. However The shop manual does not specify how far down to rotate.Far enough to work on rear cylender from airbox cover cut out or all the way accessing rear cylender from under fuel cap? Warranty is still in effect. if it leaks again due to warpage or something crazy like that would I be voiding it by working myself? I know either way this is no big deal just getting some opinions of fellow Nebo dudes. |

Thru the airbox cover is fine. Also I had a hard time finding aftermarket gaskets for an 07, so yours might be hard too. They SAY they fit...but not so. You can even skip some steps from the manual to to save you some time. Like leaving the v bracket attached to the motor, just unbolting the 3 little allens at the top. |

Also...don't go disconnecting oil lines...there is plenty of flex in them. Buy the dealer gaskets, do the work, you are already not trusting the shop to do the warranty work...so why worry about voiding the warranty? Be a man...just do it... *spider* |
