They don't even have the electronics diagnostic manual to follow. After two replacement IC's the bike still shows Theft Error with the new IC's. Any ideas? |

Have they called the tech help line? |

yes, and on first go the tech line said they might have been sent a unit that was prior installed. but, having this issue over again this probably wasn't the case. there is a six hour offset in time zone here in hawaii and I think it's causing excessive delay between dealer and buell. |

I had a similar problem at one dealership --- the cluster was fine, they just didn't know how to do it. They swore the new one was faulty and needed to be sent back. The I took it to Skip Fordyce HD and they got it right the first time. You might have your people call them at (951) 785-0100. |

This might be really off-base and not possible but I am not convinced my 09 cluster mated correctly with my 08 bike. Prior to the cluster swap my mileage was always lower than my riding buddy's bike ('Busa.) I attributed this to my speedo more accurate. Post-cluster swap my mileage is a hair higher than my buddy's bike. However, my buddy upgraded to a GSXR-1000 about the same time I got my new cluster. I thought maybe the Gixxer speedo might have been corrected..or so I hoped. What really got me thinking is that I went thru 2 of the radar check "Your speed is XX." and my speedo was low compared to the radar BOTH times. I believe one of the times, it was 45 speedo, 41 radar |

Not to threadjack, but at 70mph indicated, my GPS says 67-68mph. Close enough for government work |

so i may have solved the issue, but will have to wait until wednesday for an opening in the shop schedule. when i got back on the bike the anti-theft system was armed, which leads me to believe the system was armed while they were trying to swap IC's and the ECU did not like this. |

issue solved. disarming theft system allowed IC to marry. |
