Come to the track Eric. Either I will place well or I'll crash again. Either way it will be a good show. |

LRRS Round 7 Race Report The weather couldn't have been any better. Sunny and 70's with a nice breeze. I got to the track an hour early and set up my pit with Mike Walsh, a guy racing a TZ250. I realized that I left my tire warmers at home and that I forgot to replace my valve stem caps after doing a tire swap, so I scrounged them up pretty quickly. I didn't have time to set up the warmers before first practice, so I just went out cold and did a few warm up laps. My last lap in the session I clocked my new personal best 1:32.734. Second practice I pushed pretty hard, but I found that I was a second slower, and I was pretty disappointed about that. Not being able to hear any pages over the PA system, I missed the rider's meeting and first thing I know it's 2nd call to grid up for my race. My grid position was second row third position in my wave. I didn't take note of where the flagger was in the previous waves so I just focused on the number board. Board goes vertical and I see the green flag, off the clutch and on the throttle. I go right through the first row and I am alone. Breaking for turn one, someone gets past me, but I hold second. Into turn 3 Lori Shaw (an X1 owner) gets by me on her borrowed Aprilia SXV 5.5. I try to hang with her, but after the first lap, she's gone. By about the third lap, the first wave guys (GTO) start coming around, and I lose track of my position in the race. We get past the half way point, and I am still moving along. I get passed a couple more times by other classes, but I can't really tell what position I am in. Expecting the white flag to come out signaling the last lap, I am getting pretty tired. It didn't come. I try to run strong and keep my position, but then I notice the red flag is out. I finish in 5th position. I get a new best out lap with a 1:35.272 and my best lap in the race was close to my personal best 1:32.820. Will post the second race's results later. |

Update: new ECM makes bike fire on both cylinders. Jim, you care to part with it??$??$?? Dues the Buell race ECM accept changes from ecmspy/directlink or is it a prescribed and locked map? Any ecmspy gurus want to take a crack on getting this thing running pure? (I also wanna see what codes my ECM threw) |

Chip- I got a stock '05 CityX ECM I could write a race map for if'n you want (got the map laying around here somewhere). Anybody know if I can swap an '07 XB9 map for an '05? If you can get out here this weekend I'll hook a brother up. And yeah, you can do whatever you want to with ECM Spy. (Message edited by Scotty_J on September 08, 2009) |

My wife and I enjoyed the ride Luke. We spent a very pleasurable day in the country coasting behind every old person on the planet. I apologize again for laughing at Darren's bike trying to mate with yours, but it was quite funny. We got home at about 9pm so it was a long day. See you guys for the next ride! |

Chip, Scotty used ECMSpy on my race ECM, looks to me that they sold a new ECM just for the map. I would have had Scotty redo my old one had I known. |

That's exactly what they do, Greg. I had Scotty dump the race data in my stock ECM last time. Only now, it appears the ECM itself is toast. Soooo, time for anew. |

Your best bet would be to take one of the stock ecms that are being offered to you. You can burn in the 07 eeprom data into either of them. I have all the stock and race eeproms from 03-07 here if you need them. Let me know which one you need and who to email it to. Here is a link that shows how to change a stock ecm to a race ecm. http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?t=11316 |

Chip- that last go-round was the race map, and yes, AFAIK, the race ECM is just a an ECM with different data. Nuttin' special about it. Also, are you running an open or swiss cheese airbox? Just curious. Not like I'm going to tune something just for you (like I even know how!) Tat- Any chance you've got a map for an XB9 sportin' a Jardine? Maybe one of your professional contacts has something? |
