Hi, 01 x1 Lightning with 16,500 miles. I always kept it adjust properly. Im pretty rough on the bike in general and I drag race it on occasion. I made 10 runs at the strip last night and my clutch finally went. Just wondering if you guys thought the mileage was typical?

Based on what I have heard, the Buell clutches are generally bullet proof. That's probably why you don't see too many people ask questions about clutches or report clutch problems other than adjustment related stuff. On the other hand, I am not sure how many folks drag race their bikes and obviously drag racing tends to take a toll on clutches. Under "normal" circumstances, I think your mileage is way too low to need a clutch.

I'm going to change the trans fluid and check the adjustment on the clutch again and see if it improves. i doubt it will.
