I know Duck at Southside. I'll give him a call, thanks. I think I met some of you guys on a ride down Colonial Pkwy a few months back. Duck was there. I was on the Green S3T with silver HD custom paint on hardbags. |

Melvin (Xb12mel), Thanks so much for your help! You rock!!! 355lbs sure doesn't sound like much until you have to push it a mile Felicia and the little dead Blast |

It's not dead... it's heart was still thumping. If you want, I can swing by after work (once it's cooled) and take a look at it. I just work on the other side of the bridge construction on Magruder. We can then call on the Wrench God's Tank and Goody if I don't see the problem. Let me know if you can hang out until about 5:30 and I'll stop by. |

It feels like it's about to have massive coronary failure... Someone in the Thumper forum said it might be the carb. It idles rough and giving it any gas just kills it. I'm going to try to get it home tonight (by truck). But if you all want to stop by this weekend, I'll supply parts, food, and as much beer as you want |

Felicia, Read your post in the Thumper section. Sounds like some trash got into the fuel tank and either got sucked through to the carb, or got stuck in the petcock(that's the res/on/off thingy). Either way, you got no gas! Probably a good idea to start by draining the tank and pulling the petcock out for a cleaning/flush, and follow the flow of fuel to the carb, pulling the carb for disassembly and cleaning as well. Doesn't take much to stop up those small jets in the carb. |

Yeah, it sounded like it was being choked off when she was trying to give it throttle. (as I pushed! ~lol) The closest thing can relate to it is the sound that my weed wacker makes when I give it gas and it isn't warmed up enough yet. I didn't think that it would be the oil, but i was going to check just for the sake of eliminating it as a possibility. |

The oil needs to be changed either way. My immediate draw to the oil was that it was very low when I checked it after it died on me and that it was due anyway (yeah, I know I'm wrong ) The BF thinks it's bad gas but doesn't think the carb needs cleaned but that it will evap out. I'll let him have a shot at it but I'm thinking I'll be back asking more questions. (Message edited by felicita on August 19, 2009) |

So looks like I need to eat some crow (or however that saying goes). He was unable to drain the gas (the fuel hose wasn't moving) so he put new gas in the tank. 10 minutes later and I had it up in gear. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, and to Melvin, thanks again for the rescue and for coming back to check on me (I was inside the office but someone told me you were out there and had just left). Mel make sure you check the flux capacitor is properly connected to the carburetor bearings, if the contacts are loose or dirty you will not get a good feed of go go juice to the carb. |

Felicia.... Wait til you meet "Braces", "Stiguy", "Nillawafer", and "04Blaster" also local Blast Riders. We do a fair amount of riding if your interested in group rides and there's usually plenty of opportunities to hang out and shoot the breeze off the bike if your interested in that sort of thing too. Don't forget wrenching... if you've got a problem with the bike, there's enough collective brain power here to take the thing apart and put it back together again... (without having those scary spare parts when their done!) |

Well fellas and ladies you will all be glad to know that tonight we gave birth to a brand new Bueller. He is a guy I work with and he is now the proud owner of an 09 XB12SCG cherry bomb. Tonite at precisely 1900 (7 pm for you non military types) was the first time he had EVER and I stress EVER rode a motorcycle. With a little bit of practice he was doing awesome in a parking lot. Tomorrow I am going to get him on the roads a little bit. Hopefully he will be making some rides with us real soon. His name is Ron Brown and I am going to get him to post up here tomorrow and introduce himself. I was really impressed with him today he was catching on real quick and was not afraid of the bike at all. He was looking at other bikes but I showed him the light that is BUELL and it was love from then on out. Peace suckas Jimmy |

Yay more blast riders! I'm glad to see that there are riders who have gotten up to higher speeds than mine has gone. At least I know when I'm ready the bike will be too. =) Look forward to riding with you guys! It may be a while before I get to go on any rides because I just got "promoted" to server which means working every weekend. So unless anyone wants to ride after 4pm, I'm on my own for a while. Feel free to text me if you do (757-291-3102). I don't have internet right now so I won't see any messages for a few days. |
