The other day I was coming to a stop and noticed a loud CLICK sound coming from the front end. When I got home I applied the front brake and pushed forward kind of hard and could hear it click every time. When I turn from side to side it makes a small click on either side. If my assumption is right there might be a problem with the front steering bearing. Any feedback on this would be great. Thanks

I had this exact same issue on my 09. The tech who worked on the bike said the bearings were fine. What he did was to loosen the various pinchbolts on the front end(forks, steering head), bounce the suspension a bit to let things settle, then retighten. No noises since.

Lift the front wheel off the ground. (securely DAMHIK)

Grab the forks and try to wiggle it. It should be solid. If the bearing is loose of shot it will move around a bit.

Some times the head just needs to be tightened to spec.

I started getting the click a few weeks ago and traced it to the brake pad moving. Secured everything in the flyscreen twice before I found it to be the pad moving in the caliper. Wierd thing is it doesn't do it until the last 10ft of the stop. Good luck tracing yours cause I thought it was the bearings also.

I had the same issue as Svh, I replaced my brake pads and heard this unnerving click. Upon investigation, I found that the pads have these springs that keep them in place and if you don't have them set in just right, the pads will move with an audible click when you apply the brakes.

I had this happen to my 06 as well. Exactly the same symptoms. I adjusted the head tube bearings, checked the brakes, gave the front end the third degree..etc etc. I ended up replacing the head tube bearings and problem solved. I had to do the 10k fork service anyway at the time.
As a side note, the bearings I removed looked like new, so it may be worth trying what Portero had done to his bike first.

P.S. My bike did the click when turning lock to lock as well (like yours).

Mine was clicking but I was changing the triple trees soon so I waited and changes them all at once. You might try loosening the pinch bolt on the center nut, under the handlebars, and loosen the pinch bolts on the lower tree for the fork tubes. Loosen the steering head bearing nut and then retighten to it's proper torque. Retighten all the pinch bolts and see if that helps. If not then you need to change the bearings.
