Hello All Have to get my 98 Thunderbolt painted. Looking at Reactor Yellow. I have the paint code off the list. Would anyone have any pictures of any model or year that color. Just like to get an idea on how it will look and whether I should get the hard bags done the same color or go black. Also the tank decal, any other spots to get that besides the dealer. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks |

A Uly scoop won't work on a 'bolt. A Firebolt scoop, from a '10, should work just fine. All the '10s have a form of RSS on them now, but since they bolt to the frame...and the frame on a Uly is a 54" wheelbase frame and the 'bolt is a 52"...the angles are different and the boltholes are likely different too. Even the frame pucks are different from 52 to 54". |

Hey Ratbuell, that isn't true, the Uly RSS (inner and outer) is a direct bolt-on to an R/S short frame, but not the underseat portion. You can see proof here: http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?t=11092 Now, that being said, I ordered the '10 small scoop for my CityX, because I figure Buell engineers have a reason for not putting the bigger scoop on the small frames and the point of the exercise is to have the best flow characteristics. I don't know how well things flow with the big scoop when used without the underseat portion of the kit. For all i know it works great, but without my own fluid dynamics testing, I'll go with the factory on this one. --Sean |

Hm, I'll have to try that when we get a short wheelbase '10. I notice in parts lookup the 54" have an inner and outer RSS; the 52" have only the outer. |

Yeah, that is correct. And if you notice, it is just the Uly that has the two-piece. On the Buell website, even the 54" Ss uses the smaller scoop. I think it has to do with how much air the Uly tail section traps. --Sean |

...but with the kit installed (and the underseat duct)....the Uly tail doesn't trap any air at all. It goes out under the tail, over the hugger. My guess is it's along the lines of the CVO bikes. Dynas with the 110, no oil cooler. Bigger bikes with the 110...oil cooler. Weight, mass, and engine load probably play a part. The Uly is much heavier stock...and carries more crap than any other XB, at least in factory trim / with factory p&a. Not that Buell likes to over-engineer anything. LOL. |

I gotta get into parts lookup...I haven't even checked to see if the other XBs have the underseat duct...or if it's just the Uly. Hell...pre-coffee, I can't even remember what the other XBs LOOK like under the seat. lol. |
