ok here is a good one, I just got a new engine installed in my 08. long story as to why, anyway I picked it up roday and rode about 150kms on the hwy. I had to slow down for traffic and began to coast with the clutch in and it stalled. it started up again no problem and was fine for a little while. The the engine started running realy rough and the check engine light came on. Im getting error codes p2229 F-R AF sys and p0506 IAC sys. Im stuck up the coast for a few days so I cant get it back to the dealership until wed. any Ideas on what I can look at to see if I can fix the problem enough so its rideable to get it back. Just some extra info the afv are set to F 77 R 105. and I tried the tps reset with no differance

On a guess, since I don't have any sort of reference material, the F-R AF code as to due with the major imbalance between the front and rear Air Fuel values. The Rear 105 is normal. The Front 77 value means the computer is pulling a lot of fuel from the front bank to keep the desired A/F ration. My guess is the second code, IAC, has to do with the idle air control. In cars, this is usually a solenoid that allows air to bypass the throttle body when the butterflies are closed, thus enabling the engine to breathe and not die when sitting at idle with no throttle application. I'm not sure if the 1125 has an idle air control solenoid, but I'd start looking at potential causes of the front bank starving for air. Maybe there's a front IAC motor that either didn't get plugged in, or it failed. That would probably only work from an idle standpoint. Running above idle, where the throttle cable opens the butterflies should allow equal and sufficient amounts of air to enter the engine. Have you pulled the air box and inspected the throttle linkage, made sure all moving parts are working together correctly?

Are there any loose electrical connections hanging around the throttle bodies?

Is this bike de-noided, as in have you removed the active intake air solenoid?

Hope you can figure it out. Hope someone else chimes in.

The way off AFV for the front indicates something is very wrong. You need to get the bike to a dealership. If you don't know enough to open the airbox and look around to see if anything as amis, then nothing we are apt to advise you here is likely to be useful to you. Sorry for your trouble. Is there no dealership nearby?

I have pulled the air box off to have a look around and the first thing i noticed is that they forgot to put the air line off the afv intake that goes upto the air box. So after reading Torquaholic post this morning it clicked perhaps some dirt got into the fwd valve. Im gona try to use some air to back blow it out and hope it helps. Im not near a dealership right now. Im taking it in weds but they are 140kms away so im trying to make it run as best i can to get it there.
