After months of waiting on the stars to align properly (i.e.- finances to be in order), I am finally ready to start looking for an M2. I've found a 2000 M2 on Cycle Trader that's local (SC), with about 6000 miles on it. Searching the KV, I found Repicheep's list of pre-2002 M2 upgrades to check for (rear shock, muffler mount, primary tensioner, etc.), so I'll be sure and look/ask about all that stuff. Any other advice would be appreciated. One question- was a tach standard on the 2000 model or not until 2001? TIA, Hugh |

2001. All the other reliability upgrades are not a lot of work or expense, so do find out if they were done (so you know if you have to do them or not), but buy the bike if it is a good deal regardless if they were done. And do make sure its a good deal. All these $4000 S1's are looking mighty fine next to my M2...
