well guys, i was filling up m bike the other night, and while making sure not to over fill it i took the nozzle out of the tank, and i thought it wasnt pumping, and it got ALL OVER m bike. In a state of "panic" i got some paper towels at the station and began to wipe of the gas, most of which was on the windscreen. All was fine till the next morning when i go out to go riding and i see that my windscreen is badly scratched and DISCOLORED, to a moderately more opaque than clear. So now i have no clue how to restore the clearness of the windscreen, i was going o use plast-x for the scratches but i dont know wat to use for the opaqueness. So if anyone has any ideas about wat to do, PLEASE let me know, if i can fix it or if i have to go buy a new windscreen. THANX ALL, Jake |

Jake- My first guess would be the Novus polish BMC recommends. However, gas these days has ethanol in it... I used straight ethanol(Everclear liquor) once to get some tape adhesive off my fairing and it crazed the surface. Might be time for a new Kick-Ash windscreen. My fingers are crossed for you. Z |

For what it's worth, when I spill gas on the road, I just let it evaporate. And, NEVER use paper towels on plastic. It will always scratch. |

Paint it or replace it. |

All I can think of that would fix this would be to wet sand the surface with progressively finer grades of sand paper. Then use a rubbing compound followed by a plastic polish. It might look 90% as good as a new windscreen. For all the time spent though, I would just purchase a new one. Did it not do any damage to the fairing? |

I've got the ZG DB and it is (IMHO) very much worth the $'s! |
