Since I bought my bike last year I've been trying to find a good mechanic for stuff above my skill level. The first shop I brought it to to get serviced new tire, fork oil, brakes etc. Got the bike back and drove it home(20 miles) Come find out he never put the rear brake caliber on all the way. If that thing would come off at 60 mph. It would of been ugly. Then most recently two days ago I went to another shop to get the front brakes worked on. Thought I had air in the lines. Turns out I have to rebuild the front brake caliber. Anyways the shop was another harley shop not dealership. After figuring out what was wrong(Caliber rebuild) he put one of my front brake pads on backwards. Metal on Metal. Talk about being pissed off. These local sh#thole harley shops will f@#k you over every chance they can if you don't ride a harley. Anyways does anybody know of good mechanic around Cecil County Md. Thanks. | ||

Hey Dan, there are reputible shops out there and not all dealer shops are bad. get your hands on a Factory Shop Manual study the job before you start and take it slow step by step, the pads on backwards? what was their excuse for that? part of owning one of these older bikes is having to work on it or be at the mercy of others. welcome to the madness =) |
