I've had the breather mod on my 09 since about 1k miles and have never noticed any more than the OCCASIONAL drop of condensation from the draintube. Last week, at about 11k(and in the first stages of a 3500k mile midwest trip), I noticed that the mini filter was misting out oil at an unusual rate-it was spraying the right saddlebag and dripping ever so slightly on the right side of the swingarm(I have the filter ziptied in the area under the seat, opposite the shock preload adjuster). Any idea why the puking would begin so suddenly, after thousands of miles of nothing? |

Perhaps it was backed up? Recently add oil or do an oil change? Ride in the rain and filled the hose with water? |

Froggy- Good idea-I DOUBT its backed up, but that's something to check. Nothing comes out when I uncork it. That's what's strange-nothing's EVER come out, and the filter has never made a mess until now. As for oil, I add frequently, as mine is an oil hog(a qt between changes), so that's normal. |

Mine did the same thing all the time...I finally reverted back to the factory config only because I was tired of the mess and the smell. |

I also have an 09, 3960 miles so far. I, too, have noticed a lot of breather mod discharge the past two weeks. It started when we finally started getting "normal" Summer temperatures here in Iowa with lots of storms and humidity. Mine has just been making yucky spots on the garage floor and is giving me the incentive to finally de-grease the garage floor like I've been promising myself for months. |

I just have mine open at the bottom. Too much gas/exhaust coming out to block IMO. |

Maximum- I may just do the same. I never noticed any change in running this mod. Mopping out the airbox every so often isn't so bad. |

If your breather hose runs uphill even the slightest bit, it may be filling to the top of the bend and then overflowing. This would cause it to leak a lot, slow down, leak more, etc. I'd check the hose routing. Mark in AZ |
