Im new at this but if I could get some ideas. About a year ago I was having problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd, by the time I got home it was almost impossible. After talking to some people I changed fluid, and adjusted my clutch(internal and cable), it seemed to fix the problem. 2nd to 3rd was still a little stiff but manageable. Well a couple weeks ago same problem came up so I did the same thing, seems like it was making things worse. In front of my house luckily I got stuck what seems to be in between 2nd and third but it seems to be in neutral also. After talking to some other people it seems like I have to split the case and change dogs, and forks. Does this sound right and any special tools, or tricks

It would be worth taking off the primary chain inspection cover just to check that the spring on the shift shaft was still intact.

You'd have to pull the primary cover off to fix it, but it would give you an idea of whether you had to split the cases or not.
