Looks as tho I let my riding get the best of me this year and I finished off my pirelli's faster than I thought (showin a cord on the rear) Anyone seen any good deals lately on pirelli diablo's? Heresay is powerful and helps me be thrifty, thanks in advance for any info | ||

Pogue, I'm actually running the step down from those, the Conti Motion. Several $$ cheaper than the road attacks, and not bad in the least. I'm curious how they will hold up mileage-wise compared to the Road Attack, which I burned up like crazy doing 99% commuting (that dual compound didn't seem to help much!). ~SM | ||

snap fellas thanks for the replies. I got prices from $106 (cycle gear) up to $146 from others. I would prefer to stick with cyclegear, kneedraggers, or motorcycle superstore. Surprised to see how much these tires came down in price since I last bought my pair. oh yea, and I just realized that I got between 8,000 and 8,500 out of my rear tire, and the front is looking/ feels planted still. Thanks again fellas, and particularly to 20xb12s04, I think I'm gonna go with cyclegear, anyone have any complaints from them? or better yet some good compliments? | ||

I have only good things to say about Cycle Gear. I bought a set of those tires for my wife's bike in May. Fast shipping and no issues whatsoever. | ||

Take this for what it's worth, but I would recommend getting both tires. Even though the front may look and feel good, the profile has undoubtedly changed from when it was new. And if you get another 8,000 miles from a set of these tires, that works out to only 2.3 cents per mile ($184.78/8000 mi). Pretty cheap if you ask me  | ||

FYI, the link to motorcycle super store above is for the non oem. The oem is the "T" model. It is $172. If you ride hard you will notice a difference. The grip is not as good. I can't speak for wear, as I switched right back. It took forever to warm up and I had no confidence. Cheaper is not always better. FWIW | ||

All great posts, thanks for the help fellas. I'm sticking with the pair o tires rule of thumb, once you buy in pairs, you notice how off miss matched tires are. If its a dirt bike or dual sport, I can fudge by not using extreme lean angles...not on the buell. ALways pairs, they last longer that way too And good note by Black lighting, make sure if your getting these Diablo's that you get the oem replacement ones, or the "T" ones as blacklightning put it. I checked the ones on cyclegear, and the only ones they carry are the buell oem ones. Thanks for the tips guys | ||

Uh I was wrong on that "T-spec" part on the tires from cyclegear. I'm not quite sure of the difference here, seems to have the same tread pattern. weight differences? I looked back and BlackLighting says poor warm up times. I am not going to ride these tires on the track as I would have a dedicated set. Am I gonna feel that warm up time? Seemed like the last set "t-spec" as it were, had no warm up time. They were always on and I kinda felt that hurt my milage on them. I do tend to get a little frisky from time to time on the back roads tho.... main point,I received the non "t-spec": is the average spirited street riding going to be effected? should I not even put these on ? ::looks like it's a speed rating difference. The non-T are rated W and the T rating for the OEM spec models are rated Z for 168 mph. The W rating is for 149+ mph.....I rarely blast up to 120+ on my lightning.....guess I dont ride as hard as I thought.:: (Message edited by clutchless on August 27, 2009) |
