Andre, Stop using used bulbs and put in a new one next time. Maybe your used parts had some rough treatment along the way. |

...sometimes my signal indicator does not come on when the blinker is on. I'm thinking you have a grounding problem at the steering head in any case. Get rid of this:
Look for something like this:
Look closely and you can see where the old style Guide was abrading the harness and exposing the wires. I'd also fixed the grounding ring terminals a couple times by then but it wasn't working... Maybe do something like this:
Took care of various problems under my flyscreen. |

Would that cause a bulb to blow? |

Would that cause a bulb to blow? I don't know whether it would but it could solve your T/S problem, and probably others as well. When my panel lights would act weird I knew I'd broken another ground in there... |

On the directionals try pulling the connector off the flasher unit under the screen. Mine went on but was not properly lined up. It worked for a while then slowly started not to work until total failure. I unplugged it and plugged it in and it didn't feel right. I took a closer look and noticed the blades were not properly lining up with the connector. I wiggled it around a little till all were in align and it CLICKED on. Never heard that before!! No more problems. |

I put in a NEW bulb today, cleaned my ground point behind the windscreen and took it out for a 20 mile run. I had it up to 6 grand several times. Still burning bright. The last bulb lasted 1 mile. It was used. The previous owner probably touched the bulb or dropped them. We'll see if the new bulbs cure the trouble. I hope so. Thanks to all for the help troubleshooting. |
