If you've swapped out to an aftermarket exhaust and air filter, has your bike had any problems adapting to the change? If this pertains to you, what did you do to correct it? (besides returning it to stock) Oh, I had a cheap jardine and the K&N on there. |

i had the jardine and k&n set up.never could get the bike to adapt to it.it sounded great but ran like crap.i pulled off the jardine and replaced it with a drummer exhaust.then i took it to the dealer and they put a new down load in the ecm(from buell).the bike runs much better but still has some popping on deceleration.the drummer is a great set up for the buell. |

I have an '08 XT and I had Odie modify my stock pipe, did a K&N air filter and re-routed the breathers. I had some serious popping when I backed off the throttle. I just added and Daytona Twin Tech mod and the poppin calmed down quite a bit. But not all. I think when we did these changes the bike got pretty lean. My next idea is to get in to the programming through the Twin Tech mod and adjust the values. They set the FI diff for the front and rear cylinders because of the heat issues in the rear. I also got the new rider comfort package to get more air to the rear cylinder. One other thing I'm gonna check now that I have read some others posts, check the factory timing. Might be a timing issue too. Big puzzle, I know. Good luck and I'll try to add when I find out more. |
