Sounds like alot of you will probably be asked to leave! I'm just curious but how much is it to camp there? Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Per their rate sheet tent sites are $10 per person per night. RV slots range up to $40/night, not sure about the headcount allocation for that though. Sounds like a nice place from reading the site, and might work out well for some folks. Not sure how they'll feel about bike noise though. I'd suggest be back to camp before sunset just to play safe and enjoy their facilities for the evening. |

It looks like Snug Harbor might not take too kindly to a Buelligan invasion.

I'd agree that Snug Harbor is not the place for Buelligans. But I've never camped there. However, I have been to the bar. Not a bad place but a little trailerpark for my taste. I'd rather camp at a state park. Do any of the parks have group sites. They're usually more secluded and allow more some Buelliganism |

I haven't camped there either but the rules read like they like to keep things quiet and orderly after lights out. I don't know if I will even get a chance to go up to Homecoming, if I do it will probably be just late Friday night through Sunday AM. I'd hate to have my friends on the other side of a closed gate sound asleep when (and if) I get there. |

Come on people! What are their rules and regulations supposed to say? 1. Drunkeness and drugs are encouraged. You can pick up clean needles at the office. Just drop your used needles anywhere on the ground. Drunken and drugged up guests staggering around enhances the camping experience. 2. Crank up your sound system at anytime of the day or night. If anybody doesn't like it, screw them. If they wanted peace and quiet they shouldn't go camping. 3. There are no speed limits. Go as fast as you want. If you run somebody over or pile into a tree just stagger back to your campsite and don't worry about it. Seriously, most of their rules and regulations are just common sense. The only thing that causes me a little concern is the 11 pm gates lock. Even that only concerns me for Friday night, the night of the bonfire. I'm thinking we'll figure something out for that night. The reasons I like Snug Harbor are that it's close to Lake Lawn and it's only $10 a night for tent camping. State parks will be $20 a night and not as close. I didn't contact them today. Got busy at work and just forgot about it. I'll try to do it tomorrow. edited by m2me on March 17, 2004 |

These are the ones that concern me if I was looking for a group campsite. Last year I know that the night I was there a bunch of us were still visiting until 2AM, maybe later. I don't get a lot of chances so see you people, I certainly don't want somebody throwing the off switch just when things start getting fun. I agree that the campground, and the campers are entitled to enforce the rules that enhance their experience, I just think this might run counter to mine. The people that are considering camping there might also appreciate these types of rules and enforcement. Thanks MikeJ for posting the highlights so everybody could make an informed decision. 4. Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. until 8 a.m. No radios after 11 p.m. Please keep sounds within your site always. 23. If the rules are not observed, we reserve the right to ask you to leave with NO REFUND.

Is there anyplace else? I agree with the rules but at the 20th a lot of us were outside until the late hours just chattin. Heck we are coming from all over the country and want the time to count right? M2me check it out OK? I'm bringing the r/v even if I have to stay at Lakelawn. Maybe the r/v in the parking lot could be the UN-offical Bueller meeting place? |

I called Snug Harbor today and asked about the gates lock at 11 pm thing. Here's the deal, the gates don't actually lock. You have to show a pass saying that you're a registered camper and you can get back in. One thing I forgot to ask about is the one vehicle per site rule. I'm sure they'll make an exception for us. They said that we probably have a week or two before we have to make reservations. July is filling up faster than June is. Coolice, the main hanging out place is going to be at Lake Lawn resort not at the campground. We can still hang out and go to the bonfire on Friday. It's only a ten minute ride back to camp. |

Coolice, I'll probably make reservations on Monday. I think Gearloose is making reservations by then too. I'll let you know what RV sites are close by our tent site. |

Hey everybody who is camping, are you going to Road America on Sat? If so are you coming back to campground or staying near the track or going home? |

I'm going to stay near the track too. Probably at the KOA. Going back to Snug Harbor is out of my way for going home. On Sunday morning I'll probably just head straight west for home. |
