I just bought an X1 this weekend and it has a white brothers exhaust on it. I was wondering if any of you have experience with this exhaust and what you can tell me about it. It seems to be a pretty good quality exhaust as far as being built but not real sure about the performance of it. I just finished mounting it up the right way, the previous owner had mounted it wrong. It already looks better on the bike. Any info you all can give me is greatly appreciated. Jimmy | ||

Prev owner had the "Z" bracket on it still? I had one and liked it's performance with recommended disks from the Battle2win mag, my issues were with the length of the muffler. I found my left foot got hot on the freeway, and I had a tendency to choke on my exhaust fumes at stop lights since the muffler exhausts 306 degrees. Bought a deflector from White Bros. and it helped a little but didn't resolve my problems with the muff. Switching to V&H resolved my issues, but (SOP indicator) I lost a lot of low and mid range power and it never felt as strong. Since I sold the E-series I just held out for a Supertrapp, that has proven to be worth the money, having neither the exhaust fume-age issues nor the torque loss. I've heard people complain the E-series broke, Never had any concern there, seemed solid, I think the Y-type hanger on my bike made a difference there too though. Seemed a decent pipe to me. Since I commute a lot I decided to move on. Enjoy! | ||

Bishop, CF or Aluminum? I had a CF e-series that I loved to just look at ,a beautiful work of art. It worked great while it lasted ,after about 4 yrs of abuse the bottom side CF started getting brittle and was about to blow out before replacing with a Force. It didn't need repacking in that time but If I had to do it again I would have tore it apart and REALLY stuffed it full of packing for extra ins. against baking the CF. | ||

It is the Aluminum version. It sounds good now that I took the silencer baffle out, just have not had a chance to get it out and ride it since I took the silencer baffle out. It sounds really good now not loud and obnoxious. Jimmy | ||

You are the only one I have seen besides my bike with an E-pipe. It came with my bike. I just did not like the idea on the exhaust blowing on my tire, especially if something in the engine lets go so I got a pipe made.     | ||

I've got an E Series on my bike. I'm runnin the closed end piece (because it came on the bike) but I would like to find the open end they made for this pipe and try it also. Ya just can't find parts for these things anymore.    | ||

I had one on my Sportster and loved it. The closed end cap with discs is how you make the power. I proved that on the dyno. My mostly stock bike (SE ignition, plugs, wires, White Bros 2-1, NRHS hurricanflow) made the most power with 14 discs. Also , with a shield on top, it's a perfect setup for the tubers because the exhaust doesn't blow onto the tire; it blows out of the discs. | ||

Ditto on the parts, I tried to find extra end caps or disks. No go. I just keep my ears out.. | ||

i also have a white brothers aluminum with the stock outlet and the discs still in place with no complaints. i love the sound and performance. my bike was dyno'd at 93 Hp, 84 ft.lb.tourqe. Of course i also have other mods but couldn't be happier with the pipe. No heat or exhaust smell issues. |
