I don't need a lesson on the workings of the ECU/ECM or how it reads the AFV - I just need to know if there is a way to keep my AFV at 112% (ECMspy 2 maybe?) or maybe how to trick it into thinking its at 100% when its really at 112% Thanks, John H. EDIT: The reason I ask, is that with the AFV @ 112% I can pull away at 1,200 RPM or so – and at 100% I need to get it up to 2,000 RPM to pull away smoothly, otherwise its rough. The rest of the fuel map is fine and it runs great otherwise. Thanks . (Message edited by johnboy777 on July 26, 2009) |

There was a thread on the Quick Board last week started by Pammy about a new widget you can plug in between the O2 sensor and the ECM to do just that. Cost is ~$80 or so IIRC. Sounds like just what you're looking for. |

I'm testing the one from Cycle Rama at the moment. Still adjusting, but promising. It works well at keeping the engine cooler as the fan doesn't come as soon as it used to. However, I'm still working on getting it adjusted to where it runs richer without throwing a trouble code that indicates O2 sensor reading too lean. Hopefully, will be done in the next day or two. |

I could have sworn there was a wide-band sensor/kit type thing available for our bike that could fool the AFV reading - damn if I can find it. . |

Got it! gbalias from BuelletinBoard suggested I fatten up the maps 1.12 (12%) in the lower 1,000 and 1,350 columns... and it worked. Now I can pull away from a stop at 1,100 RPM and its smooth as glass. To be honest, I guess I was concerned about fattening up the maps that much, but it worked, and of course, if it didn't work out, you can always go back to a prior map. And the best part, the rest of the map which was fine, stayed the same. John |
