That's what the dealers telling me is causing all the metal in oil. Just wearing in. If ya ask me with all my v 8 engine /transmission building experience sounds fishy . they also said what about the clutches friction plates. Then they said who are you to tell us that's not normal. Your not a Harley tech. I can only think wow these guys are trying to play me as a idiot.

I didnt even see shavings like that in my first oil change. My bike has never seen an oil change over 1800 miles, and ive never seen metal shavings like that. Theyre full of crap.

In 23,000+ miles all I see is a little black powder on the mag-drain plug. Little if anything floating in the oil or settled out after an hour in the drain pan.

I usually let my oil pan sit for some time, just being curious. I've never seen anything like your pict in my drain pan except, when my S2 shredded BOTH pistons! That debris was to be expected after what I saw when I pulled the heads and jugs!!

So I'm not overacting with my complaint?they are spending more time trying to screw eyeballs out than to address the issues and agree.

Hell. . . . we can't tell. You are on such a rage fueled rant that those of us (Neil and I have over 35 combined years of Buell experience) can tell what the hell you are talking about.

You have ALL the means at your immediate disposal to solve all these issues, yet you parade around in a frickin' suit, painting signs like an 8th grader headed to the state basketball finals and act like a kid.

You really can't expect much from us or Buell.

Buell has a history of some of the best customer service in the world of motorcycling.

Get your yah-yahs out and when you grow up come see us.

Theres no way in hell I would ride a bike with shavings like that in the oil. Its only a matter of time before something big happens.

However, im with Court. I think youre little "picket" could have been avoided if you had just called Buell customer service when you found out the dealer was not going to be easy to deal with. Theres way too many outlets to be picketing IMO. Ive known people that were in "worse comes to worse" situations, and the BBB handled it for em with no problems.....Most busniesses are terrified of the BBB.

The BBB is a waste of time and has absolutely no teeth.

Buell Customer Service is EXCELLENT.

There is an EXCELLENT dealer within a stones throw.

But . . . .

I can't . . . from what has been posted here . . . . even get a clue as to what the issues are.

Eventually you'll want to ride the motorcycle and be FORCES to act, and communicate like a grown up and good things will happen quickly.

While you are waiting . . . I'd suggest you dig around the archives and find my piece on Customer Service.

You're well on the track to screwing this thing up . . . watching all the ships of potential hopes set to sea while you are left standing on the shore of discontent with your thumb in your ass.

When I was a Buell Employee I once had to tell a fellow in San Francisco he was a total idiot and make him promise to stop and think before he spoke before I'd talk to him, I may have been the only customer service person to hang up on a customer and tell him to call back when he could act like a grown up.

I was known as "Mr. Tact".

When you slow down and think . . . . I suspect your problem(s) will be easy to solve.

I don't have a problem with buell . It's a dealer issue.

"I don't have a problem with buell . It's a dealer issue."

That's not what Court is talking about. YOU have a YOU problem.

YOU are having issues with a dealer, and instead of being a grown-up and removing that dealer from the equation YOU are continuously ranting and raving about dealer this dealer that.

YOU have been told that YOU need to talk to Buell CS instead of the dealer, but YOU keep going on about the dealer. YOU can't fix the dealer, but YOU can go around them. YOU aren't. YOU should.

>>>Have you read my article?

It's poorly written. If you send it to customer service it will be summarily dismissed. It has no logic, sequence or facts.

Here's your chance. . . .

Try writing it again.

No more than 25 words to a sentence.

No more than 5 sentences to a paragraph.

I'm a nice guy, I'll help.

INTRODUCTION:

  • Your name
  • Year
  • Model
  • VIN
  • Dealer purchased from
  • Contact info for selling dealer
  • Dealer servicing
  • Contact info for servicing dealer

BODY (No more than 3 paragraphs)

  • HISTORY - FACTS (FACTS ONLY) about what EACH ISSUE. Each issue should be a separate paragraph.
  • PROGRESS - What has taken place so far. Again . . FACTS ONLY "Joe Tech worked on the bike on xx/xx/xx and reported he fixed the problem, couldn't fix it. . whatever". Spare the commentary.
  • SUMMARY - Summarize the history of the problem, where the bike currently is, who the contact at the dealer is and how to get in touch with you.

CONCLUSION

  • Spell out what you **THINK** is wrong and what you think the solution is. But, ask for their help based on their experience and expertise.

20,000 1125R's floating about . . . . statistically improbable that you got the 1//20,000 that has a unique problem. Be mindful I did NOT say impossible as I have facilitated a number of "quick replacements" for some very odd problems over the years.

This is an easy one to fix. I already know how it's going to turn out. I'd fix if for you but I recently retired.

You'll thank me for this . . . . go get'em tiger.

Yes, I have read your posts. All of them combined finally pushed me to post what I did, because all of them are rants about a dealer. Each of them, including this one, has been answered with reasonable responses.

Your only response is to rant more about the dealer. Seriously, take Court's suggestions, get your problem fixed, and move to enjoying the bike.

I'm waiting for buell cs to make a determination this week . And I do have a passion for this bike and can't wait to saddle back up on it. I have no regrets on buying this bike. I was just starting this thread to get with others about the clutch basket wear assumption for dealer.
