I'm organizing the garage and ran across the original exhaust for my X1. In 2002, I traded my XL883C in on a brand new X1 White Lightning which had the complete race system (headers, pipe and ECM) installed by the dealer. I asked about the original parts, and they gave me the stock headers (blue) and muffler. These parts have been in my garage ever since. I was planning on keeping these parts (along with bits and pieces from around 25 other bikes), but I am curious if they are common or hard to find. I traded the X1 after a few months (it had an unbelievable amount of problems) and my next Buell was an '03 XB9R. I thought I'd keep the X1 exhaust for posterity, but wanted input from current owners about the usefulness of these parts to others. Let me know what you guys think. |

Ok, so there's people who have a better use for it than collecting dust in my garage. What I'll do is take some pics and post them here so you guys can see what I've got. Stay tuned. |

Maybe it's just me but these parts don't look like they came off a brand new bike. (Message edited by scarecrow on July 03, 2009) |

Yep, bike was un-crated and immediately had the race system installed at the dealership. When I went back to get the original parts, they took me out back and pulled them out of a large cardboard box filled with other take-off parts. For the last seven years they have sat around the garage. This exhaust has not led a pampered life, but it hasn't seen any road use either. The purpose of my post was to see if the parts I had could serve a better purpose than sitting around the garage as a reminder of days gone by. I never said they were in mint condition, and posted photos so everyone could see what I have. I am just as happy to keep the exhaust in the garage along with all the other bits and pieces of my motorcycling past. |

Don't get rid of them without letting me know . . . I'd at least like to get some good high res photos of the pipes to keep for archival purposes. The wear on those pipes could easily have been the result of rolls testing and any running of the motor. |

Court, would be no problem to get them to you for the archival process if it helps. |
