When I hit my brakes, front or rear, my fuse blows. I think it was blowing my light fuse, or the accessory fuse not sure which one it is but I think it is the light fuse. Someone please help. I will be back after church so somebody please give me some advice. Thanks alot guys, I really appreciate all the posts that people leave. We have a good thing going here. See ya, Matt Tully |

Same thing happen to me it was a short but I cannot tell you where it was because I do not find it, someone else did. Like Buellistic said, check every wire that is common to both lights. |

"NOW" While you are looking for this "MYSTERY ELECTRICAL PROBLEM", get a bag of TYE WRAPS and secure any wire/wires that move so your wiring is not getting the "WIGGLE TEST" as you are riding ... |

I should be so lucky! I believe the fuse you are talking about is the Acc fuse. And yeah, look for issues on wires common to the brake light circuit. The wiring diagram in the FSM is your friend. Though the print is small, LOL. An orange wire w/white tracer runs from the Acc fuse to the tailight, and the front and rear brake light switches, providing power. Red/yellow from the front brake light switch to a common pin on the rear brake light switch. Red/yellow from the rear switch to the stop lamp. Your problem is most likely in the red/yellow wires somewhere, as the fuse doesn't blow until you apply the brake(s). Try removing the taillight bulb, then check for a ground w/ a multimeter. If you have one w/the brakes off, you have a short to ground. If so, try unplugging the handlebar switch assy and the taillight assy, and see if you still have a ground. Could help locate the flaw. And I'm not making light of your situation. It is just that after replacing my spark plug wires (Thanks much to Wilson!) my Acc fuse is blowing, but only after riding for 5-10 mins. All is fine during start-up and pre-trip. I'm leaning towards a corroded connection somewhere, in the headlight/taillight system. The quest is on! Hope this helps, Dave |
