Tank decals, shift linkage, painted push rod tubes and derby/inspection covers, new style rear Iso's for '01. I'm sure others will chime in and correct me or add to the list. |

The only "external" difference is the shift linkage assembly and may be the choice of colors. There were also a couple of "upgraded" components like the primary chain tensioner and oil pump dive gear and may be the rear shock. This very question was asked a little while back. Do a Search. |

I believe 2001 was the year that the plastics went from painted, to molded in color. I know a 2000 has painted plastics, 2002 has molded. |

Additionally...... 2000 had "American Motorcycles" under the Buell logo. 2001 did not. |

negative..... oil pump dive gear on a 2001 is a no go!! Whatever you heard is false, the factory gear wears down just like all the broken gears you have seen here. |

2000 was the last year for painted tank covers with raised decals. 2001 was the first year for molded in color plastic tank covers with stickers. and i think Mbsween is right about what the decals/stickers said. About a year ago i aquired a few tank cover to play around with color ideas. the 2000 i got was painted and the 01-02 i had were not with sticker style decals. |
