Mladin???He's a good rider but not as good now that you put him on a comparable bike.He had the 1000 last year and to me thats why.Now the new Honda and the Kawi 1000 and Bostrom riding the new Duc 999.Suzuki is done running the roost. | ||

I agree, I'm just not sure those other guys will have those new bikes sorted out by this first race. I'm not neccessarily a Mladin fan, but it's hard to bet against him. | ||

Hey All... If you or anyone you know is looking for a "Tuber" in excellent condition, All-Pro Motorsports has quite a few M2's, an S1, an S3 and a Blast. All low mileage with attractive prices. FYI, I bought my X1 there and am really pleased with the deal I cut. Not to mention Mark Hanrahan (SP?) is one of the best Buell Tech's in the area. I was referred to him by quite a few of KMC HOG members. Mark has his own dyno with gas analyzer and stocks his own inventory of parts. What he doesn't have, he gets from the local dealers usually the same day. Mark also installed all my performance upgrades and dyno tuned my bike to perfection. So if you know of anyone looking for a Tuber or wanting some performance upgrades, I recommend All-Pro Motorsports without reservation. | ||

Bill, Is that the place on HWY164? I bought some parts for my Dad's old Yamaha there (before he sold it), and the prices were super. Also, a friend did a Dyno run there, but got some screwed-up results. Perhaps the Dyno machine was so new to them at the time, they didn't know how to run it. | ||

Don...Is on 164 just south of 59. Not Road, Track and Trial which is on ES (National) just north of 43 and 164. Interesting comment about the dyno results. If it was All Pro and it most likely was, all I can say is I have had excellent results from them. The same applies to all the Harley riders that referred me to them as well as those that I have referred to All Pro. To the best of my knowledge, Mark was and still is the only tech that runs the dyno and he is both well qualified and documented for domestic and import products. Reference my post to Koz today in the Brew City thread. I do not know when they originally had a dyno installed. However in September 2002, when I had my X1 modified and dyno tuned, it was a relatively new dyno and was regularly calibrated by the factory rep. What impressed me the most was that I got to witness the entire process and had it explained to me in detail. In particular I liked the sniffer test as it showed all the lean spots both with the stock and race ECM's. It made my decision to add a Techlusion DFO to eliminate the lean spots and tune for low and mid range performance rather than maximum horsepower very easy. The few extra ponies I could have gained on top would have penalized me in the mid range where I ride the most. As I run the twisties and shine the drags on the straights, I much prefer this set up. Additionally, I was able to run the bike on the road for a day or so between steps to really see and feel the effect of each modification at no additional charge. As a result, I have some very strong convictions on how an X1 should be set up for performance and longevity. To further support this, the lead Buell tech at Hal's, formerly a line manager at Buell for 8 years, did my 10.0K service and really praised the bike when he returned from his test run as has one of the engineers from Harley that was on the Thunderhead development project. I don't mean to come off as bragging about my X1. I am simply explaining my dealings with All Pro and the satisfaction they have provided me. I also highly recommend Hal's service department but I realize that I would be small potatoes in their performance shop. However, I am confident that All Pro was/is better able to provide me with the knowledge, interest, time and service needed to refine my X1. As always, contingent on a number of factors, YMMV. Whew...I gotta stop writing "Epistles" when only a few words would suffice. LOL | ||

Hey Ukers, I metioned this when I was down for your meeting, but I'll plant the bug again. Since I have a new shotgun to play with. Who would like to have a little Braggin' rights trap shooting tournament? (then we can stop in at our "top secret" food spot, but only if you promise not to tell everybody else.) There is a public shooting range down near Eagle that has nice facilities that we can use. We can make it fun for ourselves. Or we can sign up for a round of "sporting clays" Cost on the trap shooting would be $12.00 + ammunition. (I'll supply the clay pigeons) Cost on the "sporting clays" is $15.50 + ammunition for a 50 bird round. If your interested speak up and we'll go have some fun. Back from Daytuna! Everything went real well: two firsts, two seconds, three thirds, and a DNF after the bike (honda) broke on the warm up lap....weather was beautiful from Sunday on... I want to go back! Went to Main street and the iron horse on the weekend. All i kept thinking was that if the Ukes girls were here, we would definately be going to jail... WFO |
