Thanks for the great forum. I must admit I feel like a junkie, I love the bike but then I know its bad for me... Here is the problem: 2000 X1 Millinium. Has a borla can and a power commander IIIr, also an air cleaner kit...similar to : http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com/Screamin-Eagl e-Street-Legal-Heavy-Breather-Performance-Air-Clea ner-Kit-2.htm So what happens: I ride for a while and then it surges and starts poping thru the intake at 20-30% throttle. You can feel that the bike is running really rough, lots of vibration. It comes on sudden and then leaves. After a while it will fart and pop so bad that you have to pull over and shut it down. When this happens and you pull the clutch in, it is idling at 2000rpm's. It almost acts like it is running out of gas... I am not a fan of the power commanders, so I unpluged the injector plugs and returned them to the factory plugs, so in effect the unit is not controling the fuel rate. It ran great for a few miles and then it went back to its old ways. I will say that the check engine light came on (the power commander disables the light so with it unpluged the light will come on for codes) I have only owned the bike for a few months and it is my first Buell - I really like it and want to get it running right. The last owner was a asset guy, so he doesn't know anything about it...but I can tell that the plugs were new and the fuel filter was new- so I think that somebody has had a problem with this before. I have also checked the wiring from the power commander for grounding and chaffing, and re-taped them to make sure that was not the issue. Also, if you take out the plugs, which don't look that bad, and clean them up or replace them- the problem doesn't surface for 100 miles and then wham its back, all of the sudden. ARGHHHHH I am losing my mind and all my liquor inventory. Any ideas??? Thanks |

Wiggle the wires going to the coil when it happens. If it helps put a slight crimp on the connectors or just put the slight crimp and see if it happens again. It sounds like a problem that I used to have. It was about a year ago and has not happened since. |

I found the front wire was loose at the plug, and re-crimped it...it worked for a bit and then the bike went back to its old ways. |

Just change the plug wire. It's less than $3.00 |

^^^ What Kalali said. You don't know how old those leads are, and it's too important to have solid performance @ plug/coil to even think twice about it. |

I pulled the power commander off, and put a new O2 sensor on it, the one that was on it was the four wire connected to the PC. From what I read these are junk. New O2 was $22 from napa. I am also going to get new wires and plugs. I also got the Ecm Spy cable coming, that looks like its worth its wieght in gold... |

The ECMSPY is the best tool available for diagnosis and tuning. If you decide to use it for tuning, make sure you make small incremental changes and save your previous settings. You can do some serious damage if you are not careful. What was the part number for the O2 sensor? |

I dont know the part number it it is for GM vehicals 88-92ish. It is the universal 1 wire, and the connector fits buell's factory!! AWESOME |
