Actually Mark and Todd-- Todd was coming from Wisconsin to buy the ROC bike and met up with his buddy Mark in Eugene,Oregon. They left their other friend,Hans there . Coming down I-5 in Mark's Toyota, disater struck--a radiator leak led to massive overheating and when he called me in the early morn ,they were on the back of a AAA tow truck headed my way from I-5 amd 505 junction. Before they arrived I had located a new radiator and in a short time after landing,we had a new radiator in. But,to our dismay the overheating looked to now be related to headgasket problems. We bled system and tossed in some sealant and all looked good. We headed to the shop and loaded up the S-1 and beat a hasty retreat from all the Nascar prep taking over the track. We had a fantastic dinner and yakked over many beers. The boys headed out to hit the local bars with my son,James. I headed for a wonderful night spent with gorgeous blonde. The next morn they headed out for Arcata to meet their friend,Hans, with high hopes. They made it about an hour before the bandaid fix gave up and had to limp back. We stashed there truck at my brothers storage are and they sweet talked James into ferrying them to Arcata. (Not to worry,he lucked into a jazz/oyster fest on the way home,poor boy.)   | ||

so you guys haul your AMERICAN bike in the back of a JAP truck(?). that is so wrong on two levels. #1 when take your M/C for a ride, you should be riding on it. #2 oh never mind !!!! | ||

Lucky guy to get the bike. I hauled many, many bikes (mostly 'Merican) in my 1993 Toyota before selling it when relocating. 143K miles. A recall on V-6 head gaskets @ 126K miles, Toyota did it and gave me a loaner while it was in the shop. How many other manufacturers would step up that way? Glad to see you found a buyer FMJ, let me know if the S2 LSR racer comes on the block . . . | ||

Umm the Tacoma's are built in California and a joint plant with GM. (Not standing up for Toyota, they should rot in hell. Speaking of rotting, how is your frame holding up?  ) | ||

I first need to say that I owe Firemanjim and his son James a HUGE debt of appreciation . These 2 guys turned what could have been a really bad situation into a highly highly enjoyable time. it would take hours to explain how much hospitality these guys showed us in a day and a half it was fantastic. When i first got seriouse about this bike months ago i knew that part of the experiance had to be seeing jims bikes and shop, this was way past my wildest expectations. thanks a heap boys!} | ||

Ya damn Yota  don't worry most of the trip was handled by a 1985 Saab 900 turbo with 4 people and a 10X8 snowmobile trailer. on a related note anybody have any info, or paperwork or pictures of these bikes, that they want to share with me or the web that would be greatly appreciated (court,1313, guys that know jim and have some info, I will contact separately) |
