I had my X1 out today. I rode a total of about 60 miles. I met some friends for lunch and stopped by the house on the way to work. I always seem to have one guy or a kid or somebody make a comment on my bike. Today though it was kinda crazy. On my way back to the house I noticed a BMW (looked like a K1300GT) behind me. As we left the light I positioned myself in the left portion of the lane so that we could ride staggered. He pulled up and around me in the other lane and was staring at my bike. Then he slowed down and kept staring. I pulled off and felt kinda good that a guy on a much more expensive bike was checking mine out. Then as I left the house on the way into work I was at another light and I heard "I'd race ya but I know I'd lose!!" I looked to my left and there sat a guy on a chopper. Well it was a custom to say the least. It was obviously an expensive bike that looked pretty sweet. I said "nice bike man" and he replied "you too! I love those F'in Buells! I am just getting a little too old to ride them anymore" I stopped to get gas and more people were fixated on my bike. I honestly could care less if everyone hated my bike, I love it. It is kinda crazy though that in that short period of time I had two people on bikes more most would consider nicer than mine admire it. |

I don't have time to look at mine, unless it's down at the tank as I'm headed somewhere. |

I know what you mean. I just love to pull up in a parking lot and have all the heads turn. They're like what is that?? Last month I had a guy on a GSXR follow me for like 3 miles till I stopped just to ask me what kind of bike it was. My biggest kick is when I go to a HD bike event and I get more attention than the custom choppers get. |

I agree you you all! I was at my local Home Depot with my X1. 3 teenage kids walked out and just stopped and stared @ my bike. "What IS that" they all said. "I've never HEARD of a Beele!" (thats how one kid pronounced it) It's a shame that these younger kids don't know what these bikes are. I would understand if lived in CHINA!. At Homecoming, I had a brief discussion with Erik Buell while getting his autograph. I made a comment "you make the BEST bikes in the world! Why arnt you marketing these bikes more?" I never did get an answer. His hearing aid fell out, then he started messing around with that. I didn't want to take up his time so I moved on. I'm sure it all comes down to Money. |

"My biggest kick is when I go to a HD bike event and I get more attention than the custom choppers get." +1 I'd like to think I'm a fairly humble person, but when it comes to this damn bike I'm anything but! Nice chopper, what is that thing.. about eight feet long? Can you even make a U-turn inside of this parking lot? That thing cost how much!?! Oh really.. 120"? Let's go find a stoplight, and see how my 76" measures up. After that, maybe we can go own some corners. Nevermind; I'll go own the corners. You stay here and polish your shit. (all in my head of course) |

Saturday I stopped at the big H-D/Buell store for the super sale event with food and music and eager salesmen. I pulled in with my 99'S3T, then the "Whats that model" questions from "Harley Experts" who know all about the Street Glides but never heard of a Thunderbolt. Some guy says that my bike is almost as loud as his Big Twin. I tell him I've got 100 at the wheel and only tip the scales at 460lbs (I think his chrome is that heavy). His counter is "Yeah but your stuck with a Sportster Motor" Life is hell on a girls bike.
