Put it in a trailer and take it from 1200ft to 5500 ft.
It clearly initially ran rough and I could smell that it was running rich. Once out of town, things quickly settled down. You really do have to get above 40 mph. It did not take 10 minutes, more like four or five.

Oddly, my friend's KTM Superduke will also learn its conditions, but does so only while idling. Has to sit for 5 minutes or so.

Speed doesn't matter, you could do it in neutral if you used a throttle lock.

Interesting. My fiance's Scg had a minor whort resultant from a chaffed wire in the W.Va. mts. traired home to just sea level and once started it sure did run funny. After several miles it got ok again. I was thinking something was wrong but perhaps this was the issue.

I thought that it required all three conditions to go into closed loop mode, 40 to 60 mph, 2k to 4k rpm, steady light throttle.

This was the first time I'd experienced this in action. Similar process when we got home. Started fine but cold idle was very low (900). Poor throttle response with a LOT of bucking. Did not run as rough as when we'd gone up though. Three or four miles to resolve.
