Anybody out there have a rear tire for a Cyclone they want to part with real cheap? My recently new one decided to get "screwed" coming home from school the other night. I heard it when it punctured it, yep big brass screw right between the tread. Ken |

Ken, If its between the tread I would plug it. Some on here will say you shouldn't plug a bike tire but I put 5,000 miles on a plugged tire without any problems. Just use the mushroom style plugs and you should be fine. edited by buelliedan on February 22, 2004 |

Wow, after 2 months away from the computer and a move back to Kansas, it's kind of intimidating to come to the Badweb and find over 3,000 posts (we will display only the first 3,000 posts) waiting to be read. Screw it, I didn't miss anything important did I? I see Rocketman is still hangin around, is he as grumpy as I remember? Can somebody in Atlanta tie Glitch down and squeeze a 3%er patch out of him? How Don Casto found me and got some BIG bolts into my mailbox, I'll always wonder. And thanx for keeping the fire burning Blake. It's nice to read with old friends. Tripper Live from Olathe, again. |

Hey, just looking for some opinions, I'm looking for a backup bike to ride when my Buell is undergoing "improvements." There's this '82 Yamaha XJ650J Maxim on Ebay in my area. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6718&item=2462 190542) I have no experience with Japanese bikes, so I don't know if it's going to be more trouble than its worth. Is this a reliable bike? How much should I spend on something like this? Thanks for any help. --Nik |

Hey! New guy here. I just picked up my 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone 1200 (bored over to a 1340) about 2 weeks ago. It's awsome! Does anyone know of any advanced rider courses? Thanks! |

I just got a new '02 S3T, great fun bike but after riding it for 300+ miles my left wrist hurts. Something about pressure on my wrist due to the riding position. What's the fix? |

Daddy, ride faster, the air pressure on your chest will relieve the pressure. Or, make sure it has the "T" bars on it (anyone got measurements) and then check into a ThrottleMeister (~$125) or wrist rest (~$5) to help hold the throttle open without grabbing the grip.

My throttle wrist is fine, but it's the left wrist that hurts. I have what ever bars the '02 S3T comes with and have tried to ride faster that may work but I can't ride 130+ all the time. Can someone recommend an aftermarket bar that is higher and further back? A bar like that might help. Never had this problem with my Road King. |

How much rise is there now? 3.5"? 5" The "T" bars have about 5" and I don't know of any bars higher. Neil has super-bars on his S2, but that's a whole different beast. You might try a custom shop - see if they can make a set. (left, right whatever ) |

Buellerthanyou; urgent message: I noticed you just won an auction on eBay for a set of S2 bars. Those bars are the recalled style, known to crack at the welds. I notified the seller about this a couple of days ago, and recommended he stopped the auction -obviously the asshole didn't. I'd refuse to buy them - they will likely break - and if the timing is "right" you'll get hurt. If anyone knows Bullerthanyou, please get a hold of him and let him know ASAP. Henrik....How do you know about the bars? I have an S-2 and also bought an extra set of bars..Anything special to look for? What about the RSS bars...they are similar to the S-2. Thanks, REX |

Rex, the "bad" S2 bar are partially milled away where they meet/are welded to the collars that clamp on top of the fork tubes. in time, they WILL break/tear at this junction. the "good" S2 bars are crimped at this junction rather than milled, leaving the tube stock complete and structurally intact (stronger, actually) yet still providing a relatively flat mating surface to weld to the collars. in short, if the tube stock on your bars, where they meet the collars, is simply crimped, you're ok. if the tube material has been milled or ground away to enable it to mate with the collar, you're not. Johhny, I'm betting your left wrist will strengthen up and be fine. You might check the adjustment of the clutch lever. It should lie in plane with your forearm and the handgrip. Most people have them adjusted up too high so they look more like how the lever on a Road King would be adjusted. That will KILL the tendons in your wrist. When you grab and pull in the clutch lever, the back of your hand should remain darn near parallel to your forearm. If your hand is having to rotate up and back too much to grab the lever, the lever needs to be adjusted downwards. Same goes for the brake lever. |
